Price wise this item has slipped outside the reach of most neopians. Which is a shame because otherwise this is a fantastic weapon.

Countermeasures (5/5)
One of the few dual duty items which blocks and attacks more then the scarab ring. It is basically a cross between a brightvale scroll and- well, a decent defender. I think that is more then worth it. The well spread out attack may be semi-predictable now days, but dark and light are two decent icons to defend.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Most people who want a dual duty will be better using a Scarab Ring or Altadorian Swordbreaker. If this ever goes back down in price below around 50-70k it will be great. Until then, just get a Scroll of the Scholar instead

Pop For Your 'Points (2/3): League 97 has indeed inflated this quite a bit, but the price is actually fair when you consider weapons of similar power, such as Dusty Magic Broom.

In Battle (2/5): Behold the terror of League 97!! Well not really, but Spyder Stone Necklace is actually pretty formidable in the metagame. Essentially, any League 97 weapon that boasts at least 3 light or 3 dark will fall to Spyder Stone Necklace. This includes: Ring of the Sway, Amulet of Thilg, Fiery Battle Duck, Glowing Battle Dung, Greater Tiki Amulet, Ramtors Spellbook, Barbat Throwing Star, Solar Burrito, Island Mystics Staff and many, many more.

The downside to Spyder Stone Necklace is the thin icon spread in its attack. Many dual duties will cause grief, such as Frozen Water Daggers and Blunted Qasalan Gladius Sword. An even bigger threat is the opponent using a Hidden Tower shield, such as Faerie Tabard. Such a shield would probably cover most of SSN as well as some of the other weapon you pair with SSN, increasing the odds of you being behind that particular round. It is actually kind of tricky to use Spyder Stone Necklace well.

Proper substitutes for Spyder Stone Necklace would be dual duties that cover light defense or dark defense. For light, check out Stocking Full of Coal or Dusty Magic Broom. For dark, Kaylas Hat is supreme. Lesser options include Golden Compass and Amulet of Altador.

Spyder Stone Necklace is a solid option for League 97 battling. If you don't participate in League 97, you are probably wasting your time.
