This is one of a series of reviews meant to tank the scores of a number of weapons that are just way too high up on the Top Weapons list. The rating is tough on purpose - it's meant to impact the average.

On one hand, it's nowhere near as expensive as it used to be, because 10 icons just isn't what it used to be. You can get two 9.8 icon Scroll of Ultranova for the price of one of these (with some cash to spare) unless we somehow find ourselves in the middle of another Charity Corner that gives out r99s. There isn't really a point in upgrading from them to this - you'd be better off just upgrading straight to a Poisonous Mushroom Tea, Turned Tooth, or something similar.

In short, as of 2021, you could do a lot worse than this, but you could also do a lot better.

Price/Power (2/5)
Another cheap Brightvale scroll. This one is just one icon weaker then the more expensive Scroll of Knowledge and was more often then not perfectly reasonable to use instead. Now just aim for any of the more recent crazy high icon count items you have own.

Countermeasures (1/5)
Tower Shield can block this pretty decently, but chances are you won't run into many of those.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Alternative wise most of the other scrolls will work just fine, upgrade wise you are looking at the 13 icon plot prize level next.

Price/power (4/5): The price of this weapon fluctuates quite a bit. At the time of writing this goes for about 9000 NP, which is extremely impressive for a 10-iconer. However, for 10k, you can get yourself a Scroll of Knowledge, which deals a whopping 11 icons.

Tactical (3/5): It's very difficult to block all the icons here. However, it's likely that something will be blocked, since it attacks with a whopping 5 different icon types. As you might expect, this is extremely vulnerable to Virtupets X-514 Super Shield, which reduces it to 2 icons. Incidentally, so does the ridiculous Tower Shield, though you probably won't ever face anyone using that. Shiny Shoal Shell Shield and Studded Leather Cuirass will reduce this to 4 icons. However, it does come out ahead against most dual duties at this level due to the icon spread. Golden Compass will beat it by 1 icon.

Bonus (1/1): This is pretty unique in what it does, though there is one other weapon that's very similar...

Closing remarks: If you're going this route, with your attack being a mile wide and an inch deep, take a look at the Scroll of Knowledge. It has 1 extra light icon.
