Ratings - Barbat Throwing Star
Rating: | This rating is to intentionally tank the average score for this beginner weapon, as it is now either outclassed by or more expensive than the current Beginner Recommended Constant Attackers. This weapon should not be considered unless it becomes cheaper than the weapons listed there. This rating does not take into account any use for this weapon in 2P leagues. Rated on January 13, 2024 |
Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/Power (5/5) As the prices drop, my rating climbs.. This item is certainly worth looking at when making up your mind, but keep in mind there are still other choices out there. Given that this only offers one extra icon over the Brightvale Scrolls it is up to you to decide if the price is worth the extra icon or if you should push forth towards the plot weapons. Countermeasures (3/5) This is easily partially blocked by items like the Dark Faerie Cloud Racer Helmet or Sophies Magic Hat... moreso with the Earthen Scorchstone. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The Brightvale scrolls such as the Scroll of Knowledge or Scroll of the Fool may be an option, or you could upgrade towards the plot 12.6+ icon plot items or the Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy. Other Points (No Bonus) Final Thoughts It is interesting to live in a world where the average cheap icon level is the 10-11 icon level... Can't go much further without making the plot items useless (which granted they could do) Rated on September 29, 2013. Updated January 22, 2016 |
Rating: | Barbat Throwing Star is an 11-iconer featuring Earth, Dark, and a hefty amount of Air icons. This weapon is fairly costly, considering that Scroll of Knowledge is obtainable off the Shop Wizard, but it makes up for this fact with its much more favorable icon arrangement. There is little need for this weapon in the 1-Player arena due to the cheapness of Scroll of Knowledge, but this weapon is much more useful for 2-Player battlers. Air and Dark icons are appealing as they are some of the more difficult to block icon types in low-level battling. There are no shields at this level of battling that can fully block Barbat Throwing Star's attack, largely thanks to its 5 Air icons. The best shield against Barbat Throwing Star in low level battling may be Earthen Scorchstone, which can hold Barbat Throwing Star to 3.5 icons, but Earthen Scorchstone is not very popular as it will not block many other items. This means that Barbat Throwing Star is benefiting from its unusual icon arrangement in the realm of low level battling. The best ways to stop Barbat Throwing Star are with Dark-blocking Dual Duties Golden Compass and Hanso Charisma Charm. Both of these weapons will beat Barbat Throwing Star head-to-head, but aside from these two weapons, there is not much else in the price range to win against Barbat Throwing Star aside from matching the offensive capability. For the new 2-Player battler and those who enjoy 500k set cap style fights, this is an item to consider along with Geraptiku Attack Leaf. Rated on January 31, 2013. Updated January 22, 2016 |
