Ratings - Frozen Water Daggers
Rating:

This rating is to intentionally tank the average score for this beginner weapon, as it is now either outclassed by or more expensive than the current Beginner Recommended Constant Attackers. This weapon should not be considered unless it becomes cheaper than the weapons listed there. This rating does not take into account any use for this weapon in 2P leagues.

Price/Power (3/5)
Never been a fan of dual duties, but at least this one isn't too expensive. Needs a little more bulk given the current icon inflation.

Countermeasures (1/5)
Blocks barely anything, does barely anything too. Eh.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
I mean i'd rather a higher icon count item like the Poisonous Mushroom Tea or one of the multiple icon/blocking rich items they have given out in the past few years.

Final Thoughts
This dome could get wet if someone brings the fire.

Price/power (3/5): 8 attack, 4 defense. Defense isn't really worthwhile, but it's not exactly negligible either. Could definitely be cheaper though.

Tactical (4/5): Head to head, it'll beat any 9-iconer that does air or water damage. However, if they avoid those icon types, they'll do more damage. If they use a 10- or 11-iconer though, you might be in trouble. Still, these daggers counter the Scroll of Knowledge, Scroll of the Wise, and Scroll of the Scholar.

Bonus (1/1): It's good to see dual duties that are actually able to outdamage regular weapons.

Closing remarks: This is quite useful against lots of weapons at this level. It'll serve you well until you outgrow it and everyone starts using 13-iconers...

Overview: A lightweight dual-duty, this weapon provides some nice defense against some common weapons.

The Good: You can use these daggers to easily knock out newer battlers that might equip the Scroll of Ultranova or Scroll of Knowledge. It even takes care of some L97 heavy hitters like Bzzt Blaster and Steaming Skeem Potion. What I really like about these is that they beat out most 9-iconers, meaning in the low-icon world, Frozen Water Daggers dominate.

The Bad: At only 8 icons dealt, you're really dependent on landing the defense to come out ahead. If this was 10 icons dealt, it'd be close to perfect for L97 or any low league for that matter, but at 8, it can be easily overpowered if your opponent simply chooses a cheap 9-iconer like Carved Qasalan Blowgun or Rusty Cleaver.

The Ugly Truth: The Frozen Water Daggers should be on the short list of anyone participating in L97. They beat out a good portion of viable intermediate weapons, the most important winning scenario being Frozen Water Daggers against the 11-icon Scroll of Knowledge

Frozen Water Daggers looks like it could shape up to be a pretty nice dual duty when the price drops. Considering this weapon is new and R97, expect more to restock soon!

Frozen Water Daggers is like a Throwing Cutlass that has traded away an offensive icon in exchange for 4 defensive icons. That's a good tradeoff in my book. 12 total icons is a nice amount of icons at the level of play where this weapon would be used, and Air/Water defense will enable Frozen Water Daggers to beat a number of weapons head-to-head such as Scroll of Ultranova, Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer, Throwing Cutlass, Rainbow Scroll, Pike Pike, and Steaming Skeem Potion.

8 icons of offense is a reasonable amount for a lower to intermediate level dual duty as well. 8 icons of offense without using any Physical icons is even better. Defensive-minded battlers will take a liking to this new weapon.
