Ratings - Grapes of Wrath
Rating: Rating History ▼ | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (2/3): Grapes of Wrath, Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, and Super Attack Pea all are endgame constants, and thus you should get either whichever's cheapest or whichever does the most damage, depending on your need. Power (5/5): 24 icons is the next step after Hidden Tower weapons, not counting weapons that do massive ranges and rely on luck to get the higher end of the spectrum. This is one of the very few reliable weapons that'll always do the massive amounts of damage you expect it to do, and fire is one of the best icon types, so that's definitely a plus compared to the alternatives. The only thing you should worry about with this weapon is earth blocking and reflection, so let's see what you should watch out for the most: Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife is a common 15 iconer that blocks 11.25 earth icons out of these grapes, bringing them down to a 12.75 iconer vs a 15 iconer, beating you. Pretty Negg Shield will block 9 earth icons and reflect 3, bringing it down to a 12 iconer vs 3 reflected icons. Illusens Silver Shield, Shield of Pion Troect, Pirate Captains Hat, and the way rarer Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie and Earth Scarab all fully block earth, leaving you with a 9 iconer while a few of these do a few icons of damage on top. The dirt cheap Shovel Plus and the incomparably rarer and more expensive Craftsmans Lens and Kings Lens all reflect 50% earth, bringing you down to a 16.5 iconer vs 7.5 reflected iconer. Ultra Dual Shovel reflects... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Grapes of Wrath is one of the more recent Smugglers Cove items, and it is also one of the best items ever to be released by the Cove. Grapes of Wrath runs for a price of roughly 140M-160M at the time of this review; Grapes of Wrath tends to be considered one of the cheapest 'elite' items. (This viewpoints lumps weapons like Leaded Elemental Vial, Thyoras Tear, Ghostkersword, and Kings Lens in the upper-end Hidden Tower level.) Grapes of Wrath deals a powerful 24 icons: 15 icons of Earth, 9 icons of Fire. Only Wand of the Dark Faerie, Seasonal Attack Pea, Super Attack Pea, and Ghostkerbomb boast stronger average hits. Like other weapons at such an elite level of play, Grapes of Wrath is not easily countered. The semi-fragile Pirate Captains Hat is a strong option as long as it does not break. Ultra Dual Shovel will come close to being even with Grapes of Wrath; Grapes of Wrath is better than fellow 24-iconer Attack Pea in this regard. The odd weapon A Shovel could also spell trouble for Grapes of Wrath, although a combo sporting A Shovel would be a rarity. It might be tempting to pair Grapes of Wrath with a Sword of Thare or Sword of Reif, but this combo will be quite susceptible to Clawed Shield, Ultra Dual Shovel, and/or Kings Lens. The counters for Grapes of Wrath stop here, however. Grapes of Wrath will run right through conventional Hidden Tower Shields like Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, and the defenses of other elite items like Illusens Staff, Jhudoras Wand, and Skarls Sword will do nothing against Grapes of Wrath. Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/Power (5/5) Currently the cheapest of the top battledome weapons... Beats out the Attack Pea by using fire, which is much harder to block then earth alone. Countermeasures (5/5) While earth is easy to block, it is very hard to fully block the earth and fire aspects of this weapon which makes it much better in 2P then the Attack Pea. If you can afford one, this may be the surprise your set needs. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Assuming you have already filled out your set with a healer, freezer and whatever else you want to use... A Super Attack Pea is the way to go by far... Other Points (No Bonus) Too highly rated for me to feel right in giving it a bonus. Final Thoughts Whoever got these were very lucky people indeed, talk about being insta-rich if you weren't already. Rating: | 1P 9/10: The cheapest of the truly elite weapons, these angry grapes will deal a handsome 24 icons every round. Attack Pea power for a cheaper price! Next step up would be Seasonal Attack Pea. You should also probably be considering the multi-healers Illusens Staff or Wand of the Dark Faerie if you have the budget for grapes and peas. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend GoW as a primary attacker if you can afford it! 2P 10/10: Arguably the best weapon for 2P before Super Attack Pea. No single multi-use weapon can fully defend it, although Ultra Dual Shovel and Pirate Captains Hat come close. It would take a good amount of skill for a HT level set to be competitive against a GoW-centered set. Scorchio resistances reduce the damage by 4.2 icons. This weapon is a game-changer in 2P.
