Ratings - Attack Pea
Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (2/3): Grapes of Wrath, Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, and Super Attack Pea all are endgame constants, and thus you should get either whichever's cheapest or whichever does the most damage, depending on your need. Power (4/5): 24 icons is the next step after Hidden Tower weapons, not counting weapons that do massive ranges and rely on luck to get the higher end of the spectrum. This is one of the very few reliable weapons that'll always do the massive amounts of damage you expect it to do. The only thing you should worry about with this weapon is earth blocking and reflection, so let's see what you should watch out for the most: Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife is a common 15 iconer that blocks 18 earth icons out of these grapes, bringing them down to a 6 iconer vs a 15 iconer, beating you. Pretty Negg Shield will block 14.4 earth icons and reflect 4.8, bringing it down to a 4.8 iconer vs 4.8 reflected icons, effectively nullifying it. Illusens Silver Shield, Shield of Pion Troect, Pirate Captains Hat, and the way rarer Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie and Earth Scarab all fully block earth, completely nullifying your pea while a few of these do a few icons of damage on top. The dirt cheap Shovel Plus and the incomparably rarer and more expensive Craftsmans Lens and Kings Lens all reflect 50% earth, bringing you down to a 12 iconer vs 12 reflected icons, once more nullifying your weapon. Ultra Dual Shovel reflects 75% earth, bringing you down to a 6 ... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Attack Pea At a Glance (3/3): Pop your opponent with 24 icons of pure earth with this tiny little pea! Then promptly consume it to gain a boost in vitamin c. In-Depth (3/4): This pea will utterly destroy any and every shield barring 100% earth blockers like Shield of Pion Troect, and any reflector that reflects 50%+ earth. Additionally, it is extremely difficult to outdamage it, as the only weapons capable of doing so is Seasonal Attack Pea, Super Attack Pea, Faerie Slingshot (from its strong hits), Ghostkersword and Sword of White Lies (from their stronger hits), Price (0/2): This is where Attack Pea starts to get rather unpopular. Grapes of Wrath deals the same amount of damage, but 9 icons of it is from fire, which makes it harder to counter, and thus, more desirable to wield. The prices are pretty close too, making GoW the better overall choice and effectively replacing the pea as the upgrade from G-sword and SoWL. Bonus (1/1): I've always wondered how you would use a pea as a weapon? Do you flick it at someone? Shoot it through a straw? Toss it in the air? The world may never truly know the horrors we put our neopets through in every fight in the Battledome! Final Score: 7/10 Rated on June 29, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (3/5) Cheaper then its older pea brothers and mighty good for 1P combat. Countermeasures (0/5) In 2P this can be cut down by many items including the Illusens Silver Shield and Shield of Pion Troect making it less interesting. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The Grapes of Wrath provide a better experience in 2P due to having the extra fire damage, while this peas older brothers the Seasonal Attack Pea and Super Attack Pea provide a pure upgrade path away from this. Other Points (2 Bonus) It is a classic retired cove item which needs a little more love from me, even if it isn't good enough to use. Final Thoughts Now where did I put my cape making kit... Rating: | 1P 7/10: 24 icons is nothing to laugh it. Having it all in earth makes it even better for 1P. Its icon distribution is better for 1P than Grapes of Wrath, but it's also significantly more expensive. This is a luxury item that would be recommended if you have the NP to spend, but not enough for a stronger pea. 2P 5/10: What makes this pea good for 1P also makes it bad for 2P. Mono-earth is easily countered by Ultra Dual Shovel, Kings Lens, Craftsmans Lens, Pirate Captains Hat, Shield of Pion Troect, and Illusens Silver Shield. Also, opponents may morph into scorchio (-2.4 icons) or ixi (-4.8 icons) to dull the attack. This pea would be best in a role as an alternate attacker in a set; consider GoW instead.
