Rating: | Price/Power (1/5) The Rancid Battle Dung provides the user with 11 icons, which is by far underwhelming by today's standards. What you are paying for here is the bulk number of icons on offer and this dung unfortunately doesn't stand the test of time. Countermeasures (1/5) Easily knocked back by the Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, but few shields offer enough bang to push all of this back. Hence the point. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades If you really need a hidden tower level weapon with this icon combination, pick the Skarls Hasty Mace instead... otherwise you can get this much cheaper in the form of the Bow of Destiny. Rating: | Rancid Battle Dung is the most useful member of the Battle Dung family, although its family members still carry some merit. Not long ago, the Battle Dungs were an afterthought, simply steaming piles of overpriced-Hidden-Tower-garbage. League 97 has given life to this forgotten family of weapons. Rancid Battle Dung, like all Battle Dungs, can presently be found in the Hidden Tower for 5M. Thanks to the demand fueled by competitive League 97 play, Rancid Battle Dung can commonly be found on the player market for a few hundred thousand Neopoints less. Despite the 5M price tag, Rancid Battle Dung musters up a mere 11 icons, on par with the buyable Scroll of Knowledge. Comparatively, Stone Foam Finger generates 14 icons of offense for less than half the price. Also, Skarls Hasty Mace can be found for a few million Neopoints more than the Rancid Battle Dung, and it deals similar icon types but in much greater quantity. If it is not already apparent, Rancid Battle Dung is useless for general usage. If not for League 97, my rubric scores Rancid Battle Dung as a 2/10. However, I seek to rate weapons in their best possible light. Therefore I must rate Rancid Battle Dung with League 97 in mind. In League 97 play, Rancid Battle Dung is arguably the best item in the metagame. Rancid Battle Dung does not offer the game-changing power that other weapons might offer, but Rancid Battle Dung is the workhorse of the league. Any League 97 battler that can budget in a Rancid Battle Dung should own one (or two!). The League 97 battlers that own Rancid Battle Dung will have it equipped more times than not. |
