Ratings - H4000 Helmet
Rating: | This rating is to intentionally tank the average score for this freezer, as it is a downgrade from the now more affordable Sleep Ray (100% freeze plus 4 icons of damage). This freezer should not be considered unless it ever becomes cheaper than Sleep Ray. Rated on January 13, 2024 |
Rating: | Initial look- Hey! I remember this before it underwent plastic surgery. Before its transformation, this used to be the much sought after (And significantly cheaper!) Hypno Helmet. Counters- At this point in time, the only way to counter a freezer is to use another freezer on the same turn. Alternatives- There are PLENTY of alternatives. Some better, some worse; it just depends on how much you're willing to spend. If you want to go millions less and don't mind giving up half of your chances at getting a freeze go with Randomly Firing Freeze Ray. If you want a tiny bit more power for a tiny increase in cost a Freezing Potion will do. Don't mind paying a little more NP for a little more offensive power? Sleep Ray. If you have one of these and/or don't mind a species change, Entangling Lenny Lasso or a pair of Icy Chia Goggles can help you out. You love Dr. Sloth? No problem, Sloth Approved Hair Gel has got you covered. Like to excessively read? A Heavy Blue Tunic might be more your style. Do you have hundreds of millions of NP to spare and want something that will scare the bejebus out of your opponents? Moehog Skull is where its at. Whatever you want, its out there. Bonus- 0/1- This looked a lot cooler when it was the Hypno Helmet. Overall Rating- 7/10- This is a one dimensional item that will do exactly what you expect it to do, nothing more and nothing less. Due to the advent of multiple 100% freezing abilities, depending on how far advanced you are, you may not even need to use a freezer period. But that's a discussion for another day. Anyhow, there are a myriad of alternatives to this; quite ... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | H4K Helmet At a Glance (3/3): Use this helmet to trap your opponent in a frozen-like trance for one turn! Has a 100% success rate. In-depth (2/4): There's really not much to this item. Use it one turn, obliterate your opponent on the next. The best time to use it is when you can finish off your opponent in one turn. There isn't really much of a way to counter it, other than using a 100% freezer of your own. Furthermore, this is the most basic of the 100% freezers. Price (1/2): 5-5.5m for a freezer isn't bad (in fact, it's a good 1-1.4m cheaper than a few years ago!), but for merely 500k-1m, Freezing Potion could be obtained. Bonus (1/1): This item used to be called "Hypno Helmet", and costed a fraction of what it costs today. Furthermore, you could equip multiple helmets! Final Score: 7/10 Rated on June 29, 2014 |
Rating: | Power: 4/5 This is probably the most barebone 100% freezer out there. It doesn't offer any additional offense like Freezing Potion or Magical Marbles of Mystery nor does it offer any defense or other additional traits like Heavy Blue Tunic. Either way, you're most likely here for the freezing, so this is still a rock solid option which may save you some NP compared to the others. Counters: 1/3 Watch out for Clawed Shield and Rainbow Swirly Thing which both grant freeze immunity rendering this completely useless. Besides those there's absolutely nothing to fear with this barebone freezer, though. Uniqueness: 0/1 Nothing special about this one, it freezes and that's it. Bonus: 1/1 This is a real classic and despite being a bit worse than the other options nowadays this is still a solid option that managed to withstand the test of time. Rated on September 30, 2013 |
Rating: | Price/Power (4/5) This is a 100% freezer, which is basically needed in any set once the hidden tower level of weapons is reached. It provides one free turn of absolute power and dominance over your opponent. The H4000 Helmet offers a barebones basic freezing experience and is THE classic freezer. While it does not provide the extra icons, freezing is what you are here for. Countermeasures (5/5) It is hard to deal with freezing, very hard. You may be able to use a lens flare to stop it for a turn but freezing allows you to go all out in one turn of carnage without having to worry about defending yourself. Perfect. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Realistically, when you have a 100% freezer there is little in the way of upgrades that are worth while. The Freezing Potion and Magical Marbles of Mystery both offer icons with their freeze but you are here for the freeze. The main upgrade to any 100% freezer is the Moehog Skull which offers unparalleled power for a freezer. The Moehog Skull may cost a ton, but offers a huge amount of extra attack and defense and is thus the main upgrade to any other 100% freezer. Other Points (No bonus) Final Thoughts I wish I could give this a nostalgia bonus, but at this level it is just too good already! Rated on August 18, 2013 |
Rating: | I really cannot stress enough how useful it is to own a 100% freezer. Unless you are participating in a no freeze 2-Player tourney or your pet is so ridiculously strong that weapons not named Wand of the Dark Faerie, Illusens Staff, or Sword of Lameness seem pointless, I guarantee you that a 100% freezer will be worth your while. Scroll of Freezing is not a viable option. It is understandable to use in tackling a Defenders of Neopia mission or the Space Faerie, but the cost of constantly replacing the Scroll will be sky-high. Thanks to Magical Marbles of Mystery in the Hidden Tower, the 100% freezer market is very stable. You can buy a non-disposable 100% freezer like H4000 Helmet and sell it to get your money back if you want. Some pets can take advantage of cheap species freezers like Entangling Lenny Lasso, but for Lab Rats and people who prefer to battle with a species of Neopet they truly like, H4000 Helmet is the best option. You are best off saving a few hundred thousand NP with H4000 Helmet over Freezing Potion or Magical Marbles of Mystery, and coming back to upgrade your freezer AFTER you have tended to other parts of your set. Chances are the extra icons on your freezer (Unless it is Moehog Skull :P) will not be a game changer, so if you have a budget, this is a corner it is okay to cut. For the casual battler, my best advice would be to acquire constants equal to Ylanas Blaster or above, along with an appropriate healer, and then start saving up for this helmet. 100% freeze is a wonderful luxury that is not too far out of reach. :) Rated on December 11, 2012 |
