Price/Power (0/5)
I really don't like this. It looks a LOT more impressive than it is, but for a max of 20 icons, most of the time what we see is a lie. Add in the fact that in the past few years the price continued to rise. Even if this item was impacted by a mass givaway, I do wonder it's value;

Countermeasures (1/5)
Not focusing on one icon type is important to get through a defense, but limiting yourself to one use can often be a massive issue.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
The most common bomb that many will already own is the Varia is the Bomb- which offers more icons, spread over fewer icon types. But honestly when considering purely icons, something like the Fan of Swords would do you fine.

Other Points
I'll throw in a retired item bonus, not that it means much these days.

Final Thoughts
This is a relic, one I rather love but still a relic.

This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use.

Price (0/3): No. For a price like that you can get a ghostkerbomb or multiuse items that do more damage than this on average.
Power (0/5): The minimum damage this does is just under 13 icons, and the max is 20 icons, with split iconage... Considering 13 and 14 multiuse iconers are extremely cheap and that anagram swords and other similar weapons exist, this is just a waste.
Uniqueness (0/2): bombs like this are common, and split weapons are too.

Overall This weapon isn't useful anymore. At best you'll get a 20 iconer, at worst you get less than the average, and it doesn't matter since it's once per battle and split so badly most of it will get blocked. Because of that its final rating is 0/10. I can't give a rating of 0 however, so it gets a shameful 1 instead.

Few weapons suffer from fractional icons to the extent that Rainbow Clockwork Grundo (RCG) does.

Rainbow Clockwork Grundo deals 3.222 to 5 icons each of Fire, Dark, Light, and Air, with equally probable intervals of .444 icons in between the max and min of each icon type. RCG has a minimum attack of 12.888 icons and can attack for a maximum of 20 icons, but 77.6% of all hits will be between 15.111 and 17.777 icons.

With an average of 16.444 icons, Rainbow Clockwork Grundo is stronger than 13-icon Multiple Use weapons like Altador Cup Throwing Star and the Once Per Battle Honey Potion, and it is weaker than more expensive Hidden Tower weaponry like Ghostkerbomb, Skarls Hasty Mace, and Kelpbeards Trident. This means that RCG is appropriately priced for its power. The worst case scenario is an attack on par with a 13-icon weapon and the best case scenario a whopping 20 icons, and the average is just shy of Skarls Hasty Mace.

In terms of total icons, Rainbow Clockwork Grundo is not all that bad, although the sizable range of outcomes and misleading fractional icons make it unpopular. For battlers that participate in 1-Player battling only, Rainbow Clockwork Grundo is an acceptable bomb to use while saving for Ghostkerbomb or a Multiple Use Hidden Tower weapon like Skarls Hasty Mace. However it is important to have at least Ylanas Blasters or better for Multiple Use weaponry before considering this bomb.

In 2-Player, Rainbow Clockwork Grundo runs a high probability of being partially blocked. On one hand, many of the icon types RCG has to offer are difficult to stop, but on...
