In-Depth (2/4): According to my calculations, this device performs best as a check for a variety of major air/light based weaponry. Weapons that fall into this category: Ghostkersword, Sword of White Lies, Pirate Captains Cutlass, Super Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, Sword of Ari, Sword of Thigl, Amulet of Thilg, Flask of Liquid Light, Wand of Reality However, it fails to actually fully shut down said variety of weaponry. Only weaponry such as Kaylas Hat and Flask of Liquid Light that exclusively specialize in air/light will be beaten by the device. This makes the scrambler punishable in battle. Price (0/2): This device is rare and the price will reflect this. Only affordable by battlers who believe money grows on trees. Air Defense Alternatives: Jhudoras Wand, Shield of Faerieland Light Defense Alternatives: Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour, Pirate Captains Hat, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise Light + Air Defense: Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, Frozen Cyodrake Shield Bonus (0/1): This device has a niche role that some battlers may find useful in their careers, if they can afford to have this in their sets. Rating: | Price/Power (1/5) It is a dual multi-use 100% blocker. There are few of these on neopets, but at this cost few people would get to use them. Countermeasures (2/5) This does some serious damage to a Pirate Captains Cutlass and a Sword of White Lies, but not many items use this combination of icons like this. It can naturally take down the Sword of Thigl and Sword of Ari too, but the chances of these weapons being used together is minor. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The Pirate Captains Hat offers another dual 100% block chance but can break for the battle at times. There are also the Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour and Shield of Faerieland which offer a good deal of air and light defense too. If you own one of these already you might as well use it if you know they are going to be using these icon types however. Other Points (1 Bonus) It is a retired cove item. Final Thoughts Not worthless, just slightly hard to justify given the rarity of items that use this combination of icons... At least there are two. Rated on May 26, 2013 |
