Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (1/3): While the price is kind of acceptable, I can't really give it more than one point here, and the reason is down below. Power (3/5): While the total output is a massive 31 icons, the average tends to be around 20 icons. Being mass air is great, but the thing is... Sword of Ari exists, for 1/6 of the price, and deals an average of 2 icons less at around 18. It's still useful for maximising damage output, but the price differences makes it so that it's not a must have anymore. Uniqueness (0/2): considering the aforementioned anagram sword and other air heavy weapons, I can't give any points for uniqueness here. Overall this used to be an amazing weapon, but things like the anagram swords and other weapons getting closer and closer to that average for much less, it's not as useful as it used to be. Because of that its final rating is 4/10. Rated on January 31, 2020 |
Rating: | Price/Power (4/5) Honestly likely one of the only items that has been improved by the price drops caused by the retired item capsule. Problem is, it doesn't really match the now super affordable Grapes of Wrath It provides only a minor upgrade over other tower weapons and due to the price rise is not really recommended unless you are stuck in the middle between tower level weapons and cove level weapons. Countermeasures (2/5) Air is pretty nice of an icon to use really, the physical and darkness is not in a bulk enough amount to really make this weapon be killed by anything despite those bad icons added in. The best counter to this is the Shield of Faerieland which can take this down to three darkness, but may not be commonly used enough to be a worry due to the cost and offering a lower number of icons of blocking then similar hidden tower level shields. Additionally now the Celebratory Confetti Cannon takes a hunk of this too and it is not unlikely for people to have in their sets after the birthday wheel. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The Sword of White Lies is a direct alternative to this, and also the reason the price dropped for a time... Besides this the higher upgrades are extravagant to say the least with the next move up being an Attack Pea style weapon such as a Grapes of Wrath. Downgrade wise you could look at a Sword of Ari, which only provides a couple of icons less attack but for a much more reasonable cost. Other Points (1 Bonus) It is retired, and very nostalgic of an item. Even at this cost this weapon is still semi decent, but not many people will be able to take ... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | 1P 7/10: This legendary blade averages 20 icons of damage, so it's only 2 icons better than Kelpbeards Trident for several times the cost. Air is rarely blocked/reflected by 1P opponents, giving this weapon a higher 1P rating than Sword of White Lies. I would recommend this weapon as a primary constant only if the rest of your set is complete (with the likes of Thyoras Tear) and if you do not have the budget to upgrade to Grapes of Wrath. 2P 7/10: A difficult weapon to block, since air is defended very lightly by Faerie Tabard and Ghostkershield, and full blockers/reflectors such as Shield of Faerieland and Triple Turbo Dryer are expensive. However, it loses 4.8 icons against Pteris, making it worse than most of the HT 18-iconers in terms of damage output when battling a Pteri. Consider Sword of Ari as a cheaper air threat. On another note, the uber-rich may find this to be a decent weapon to include in a pea-level set. This weapon is more of a luxury than a necessity, to be considered only if the rest of your set is solid. Rated on January 21, 2013 |
