Rating: | Recommended for: Intermediate Battlers Price at Time of Rating: 500k-1m Note: My rating of a 10 is meant to bring up the average rating, but I do not personally consider this weapon to be a 10. This weapon is available in the Hidden Tower and was also in the prize shop for the 2023 Faerie Festival (Jhudora's side), which has caused a significant price drop. Strengths: Blocking 100% of light icons is the big draw here, and although there are several alternatives for that, this weapon stands out for also including a pretty strong attack while being quite affordable at the moment. Weaknesses: Although there is a workaround, the restriction on unequipping this item is quite annoying. It may be worth the hassle (and potentially high adoption costs) to equip this for a specific plot boss if they happen to dish out heavy light icon attacks. Alternatives: There are quite a few great 100% light blocking shields at different price points and number of additional icons blocked, such as Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour, and Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield. If you've got tons of NP to burn, you can consider the multi-duty alternatives Skarls Sword or Golden Pirate Amulet, but Jhudoras Bewitched Ring is the much more economical choice. Notes: This item cannot be unequipped at the Battledome. In order to remove it from your pet's set, you have to either pound or transfer the pet to a side account and back. But beware of high adoption fees if your pet is well-trained. Rated on March 28, 2024 |
Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) I feel like in a world before the Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife, Blaze, and even Hanso Charisma Charm I would have given this slightly more leeway. But as it stands it is far too expensive for what it does; add in the annoying hoops you need to go through to unequip this and it becomes even less desirable. Countermeasures (2/5) Look; I get it. Good deal of damage with a bunch of defense. It isn't something to scoff at, but it is also less interesting than ever right now. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades If you want to spend an ungodly amount on an attacker with defense- maybe The Mystical Tablet is the way to go. That or any of the items I mentioned before. Other Points (1 Bonus) For being retired. Final Thoughts While I would love one of these for my SDB; as a weapon it is... lacking. Rated on April 30, 2023 |
Rating: | At a Glance (2/3): A dual duty weapon that inflicts 10 icons of darkness, ~2.75 physical, and fully blocks light damage. But watch out: IT CANT BE UNEQUIPPED! In-Depth (3/4): The offense is a step up in power from {{Dark Faerie Collar}}, but the idea behind using it is the same. Use it as a shield breaker. Other than the rather plentiful bounty of dark blockers, such as Hanso Charisma Charm, this weapon is generally safe to use. It rips through Faerie Tabard and (ironically) Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, and the additional physical makes it even stronger against lesser shields than the collar. The full-blocking light defense cuts down many weapons that have light. Price (0/2): It's about ~5m more than DFC, which makes me wonder if its utility is really justified. Make no mistake, it is better at offense/light defense than the collar, but is it that difference worth 5m? Bonus (1/1): If you only have a single BD pet, then have at it. You should have no problems with this weapon. If you have more BD pets, but still want to use it, you'll want to know that there technically is a way to remove it. Just initiate a transfer (it doesn't have to be completed), and all of the weapons that were on that pet will be automatically removed. Pretty neat, right? It just isn't a good habit to form is all.
