Ratings - Slumberberry Potion
Rating: | Price/Power (4/5) The price of this item is set by the hidden tower, as long as it is there this item will be pretty decent value. This provides a decent chance to freeze without throwing away too much of your attacking potential. Countermeasures (2/5) Freezing is great, but the percentage is not as good as it could have been. Unfortunately this item has dropped in usefulness a bit due to water being so common to block. Your attack may be blocked with little effort which makes this item as bad as a normal low percentage freezer. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades When it comes to multifreezing there aren't many options. There is the long retired Ice Dice and the awesome Sword of Lameness... But for pure freezing this item is most likely still one of the better ones. Other Points Final Thoughts I really do like this item, I should buy one. Rated on May 31, 2014 |
Rating: | Power: 4/5 A solid multi-freezer providing a 1:6 chance of freezing while still offering 10 offensive icons. While 10 icons sure isn't much and you are still likely to be better off using some real offense instead of hoping for a freeze, this is your best bet if you don't want to also jeopardize your healing with Sword of Lameness. Counters: 2/3 As with most freezers you should watch our for Clawed Shield and Rainbow Swirly Thing which will negate your freezing defeating the most important effect of this weapon. However if you encounter either of them chances are your attack will go through, so you're probably safe here in that regard. Uniqueness: 1/1 The only solid multi-freezer that always comes with an offense that shouldn't be ignored. Bonus: 0/1 Too... Zzzzzzzzzzzz... wait... what's a bonus? Rated on September 29, 2013 |
Rating: | Slumberberry Potion is a unique weapon, dealing 10 Water icons and possessing a 1/6 chance of Freezing. Here is the unusual part: it is Multiple Use, even after Freezing. Because of its unique nature, I am going to break this review down into two distinct sections for 1-Player and 2-Player. 2-Player: I'm starting with 2-Player because this will be quick and simple. Slumberberry Potion and other Multi-Freezers are only useful for gargantuan-sized pets in 2-Player. Slumberberry Potion is no different from Black Frost Cannon or Randomly Firing Freeze Ray in this regard; chance Freezers have no place in standard League battling. The odds are against those attempting to participate without a reliable freezer. The lone exception would be pets with Health Points so high that Multiple Use weapons like Wand of the Dark Faerie and Illusens Staff can heal more than any reasonable amount of damage in a single turn. This means that Multi-Freezers like Slumberberry Potion would be necessary for consecutive Freezes to prevent this healing. Next to nobody actually fits into this category though, so simply put: don't use Slumberberry Potion in 2-Player. 1-Player: Slumberberry Potion is useful in this section of the Battledome. Ice Dice is the other mentionable Multi-Freezer, and while it has a higher chance of Freezing, it costs much, much more due to rarity. Sword of Lameness offer a Multi-Heal/Freeze combo, but it also costs a bit more than Slumberberry Potion and its chance of Freeze is only 1/8. (Sword of Lameness is useful; I'm just pointing out that its Freeze rate is lower here.) So how can Slumberb... ▼ Read More ▼ |
