Ratings - Rainbow Scorchstone
Rating: | Outrageously expensive. It might be the right fit in someone's set, but if you equip this weapon know you will want to upgrade soon, AND, more importantly, know that the price of r99s is rather volatile. You are basically most of the time keeping this in the tp when not actually battling hoping someone needs it for level 49 of jhudora's quest or whatever. If you treat it like that the price doesn't matter, otherwise this is not worth it. Rated on April 9, 2020 |
Rating: | Price/Power (1/5) While this item has a very good strategic value the price is unreasonably high. Providing a 80hp overhealing heal is a good thing especially when you consider it should cost less then a Glittery Scorchstone but this is a very niche item. Countermeasures (3/5) When used in combat this does allow for league-breaking combat which for a niche set of battlers can provide unparalleled advantages. However, in recent tournaments rules are often put in place to limit the cost of sets to avoid unfair situations. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Glittery Scorchstone is naturally the upgrade but like this is prohibitively expensive. Other then this, a Greater Healing Scroll is useful if you are not looking for an overheal. If you are training this will become out of date quickly and replaceable by a Leaded Elemental Vial or Bag of Healing Dust. Other Points (No Bonus) Final Thoughts A niche item that is too expensive to really hit the mark with me. Rated on February 12, 2013 |
Rating: | Rainbow Scorchstone, although not as powerful as Glittery Scorchstone is still an above average healer for low-league pets. It costs half as much as Glittery Scorchstone, but that does not mean that this Scorchstone comes cheap! This is a healer for the elite, and it is capable of providing a hefty advantage to those who use it, particularly L4 and L5 battlers. (Although it can be useful for lower HP L6, L7, and even L8 builds.) Rainbow Scorchstone, like all other healing Scorchstones, overheals. This means that it will always heal 80HP, regardless of whether 80HP has been lost. In fact, a pet does not even have to have 80 maximum hitpoints for this Scorchstone to heal it 80HP. For this reason, Rainbow Scorchstone is exceptionally more useful than healers like Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic that do not overheal. If Rainbow Scorchstone heals more HP than the amount of HP that has been lost, the extra amount can 'absorb' the damage. For example, a pet with Rainbow Scorchstone has 50/100HP and takes 20 damage. The pet would have 100HP/100HP at the conclusion of damage calculation because Rainbow Scorchstone healed 80HP still, despite the pet only missing 50HP to begin with. One way to think of this is that the Rainbow Scorchstone had 30HP left over it that could be used to absorb up to 30HP worth of incoming damage. Healers with overhealing capabilities are desirable for this reason. Although very pricey compared to non-overhealers, the extra price is certainly worth it. For a L4 or L5 pet, only the more powerful Glittery Scorchstone would be better. Although most battlers cannot afford a Ra... ▼ Read More ▼ |
