Rating: | Price/power (1/5): Expensive and doesn't do enough. Tactical (0/5): Outclassed by the Studded Leather Cuirass. The steep Intelligence requirement and the price ensure that it's unsuitable as a beginner's shield. Bonus (1/1): Looks nice as a wearable. Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) R96 but only 6 effective icons? Ick. Even if you had the extra three there would be little point to using this. Countermeasures (0/5) There are so many different icon combination alternatives these days that there is little point in using an item which provides such a tiny defensive range. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Anything. Just get a much nicer Wanderers Cloak or just stick to a decently powerful multiuse attack item. Rating: | Warriors Cloak of Wit demands that the user have 400+ Intelligence despite only offering 9 icons of potential defense. This is a big request for a weapon that offers a less than spectacular defense. Beginner level weaponry like Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Scroll of Ultranova can do 9+ icons. In order for a 9-icon shield to stay on par with these weapons, it needs to fully utilize its defense. How many weapons or weapon combos will inflict Water, Light, Air, and Physical icons all the same time. Not enough. Although this weapon can cut down Rainbow Scroll, Scroll of Ultranova and Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer, it will almost never stop damage with all four of its icon types at once. Any worthwhile beginner weapons can slide some damage through this shield. Sadly, Warriors Cloak of Wit is just another shield that falls a few icons too short of being usable. If a weak shield is to be usable, it needs to focus on fewer icon types. Spreads like this are simply ineffective.
