Ratings - Black Long Sleeved Cape
Rating: | Price/power (1/5): Negligible attack, 9 icons blocked. Rare icon combination, but still too expensive. Tactical (1/5): Will attack in 1P battles, but it's not too useful. The defense is lacking, but will take a huge chunk out of Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting. Bonus (1/1): Nice too see weapons with interesting requirements. Closing remarks: Upgrade to a Wanderers Cloak or perhaps a Royal Blue Cape. Rated on December 31, 2014 |
Rating: | Overview: Black is the new Blue? No. No it's not. The Good: If your opponent is equipped with a Carved Qasalan Blowgun or Balthazar Claw and has low intelligence, this weapon is perfect. The Bad: In almost every scenario, the Black Long Sleeved Cape is too weak to be useful. Most weapons can skirt around it enough to make up for whatever good attacking weapon you pull out. Besides the scenario above, I can't think of any other time that the Cape would be useful. The Ugly Truth: Ultimately, the defense just isn't good enough. However, if the specific defense is that important to you, go for the upgraded version of this, which is the Royal Blue Cape. Rated on July 9, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) R99 means expensive, I would expect it to be at least as powerful as a normal shield Countermeasures (1/5) It is better then most, but nothing special. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Just get yourself a Wanderers Cloak instead. Other Points Final Thoughts This is another item that would be better as a customisation item Rated on April 15, 2014 |
Rating: | At R99, it can be assumed that Black Long Sleeved Cape will remain grossly overpriced unless it is handed out as a daily prize. (Hey, anything can happen!) This weapon offers 9 icons of defense, and 2 icon of offense in select scenarios, both of which are pretty lackluster numbers for a weapon only found on the Trading Post. The 2 icons of Dark are nothing special, but the fact that the attack relies on opponent's intelligence makes the attack even worse. Factors beyond the user's control always hurt a weapon's overall versatility. Weapons that provide 9+ icons of defense are abundant on the Shop Wizard, meaning that Black Long Sleeved Cape's only redeeming factor might be its unique defense. This is not the case, as Wanderers Cloak can offer Fire, Light, and Earth defense, and more! Sophies Magic Hat offers a hardy amount of Fire and Earth defense in addition to Dark and Physical defense. Royal Blue Cape provides all the same defense as Black Long Sleeved Cape, along with Air defense as well. All three of these weapons can also be found in the range of 100k-200k barring inflation, well cheaper than the price of this weapon. Bottom line: Save some Neopoints and go with one of the options above for similar icon types and slightly better overall defense, or spend more Neopoints to get a far superior defensive option like Faerie Tabard.
