Ratings - Crystal Plateau Dacardian Shield
|
Rating: | Recommended for: Anyone who has it! Price at Time of Rating: No Trade This shield was awarded as a late-game prize in the old version of Island Builders, but is no longer obtainable. At the time of this review, Island Builders has been relaunched as Tales of Dacardia but it is not known yet if the new game will award this shield. Strengths: If you got this for free, then it is currently the best dark-icon reflector. It beats out the more classic Ultimate Dark Reflectorb due to blocking an additional 7 physical icons, which are very common. Weaknesses: First off, it's currently No Trade so you can't get it if you don't already have it. Secondly, single-icon reflectors serve a more niche purpose, as you should use the correct one based on what weapons you know that your opponent has (when it comes to 1P). But these are non-issues if you have this and are specifically using it against a tough opponent who dishes out a lot of dark icons. Alternatives: For 100% dark icon blocking, there is the very affordable Hanso Charisma Charm. You can also consider Jhudoras Dark Collar, which has a weaker reflect but comes with attack and defense icons for a decent price. Notes: I will update this review if this item gets re-released in the new Tales of Dacardia or if it ever becomes tradable. Rated on June 5, 2024 |

Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) Technically, the price to power of this is a hard one to do- on the one hand it is "free" as it is a reward for Island Builders- on the other hand you do have to put effort to obtain it since it is "no-trade". While technically it being free and semi-powerful it should be a solid 5/5, the added effort in actually obtaining it makes it less appealing if you aren't already playing the game Countermeasures (3/5) So- lets imagine you are playing the game and you have earned it. How good is it? Well, It is good. Let's not beat around the bush on that fact, there is nothing to scoff about when it comes to a 75% reflection of any icon- let alone one with a little physical buffer... So why only 3? Well, as there are a lot of other ways to easily and cheaply block dark (such as the Hanso Charisma Charm) you may find yourself up against users more than happy to avoid using dark either by default or once they notice you are wielding this item. Just a little something to keep in mind when choosing this weapon. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The {{Dark Faerie Collar}} can be freely bought without effort- it reflects less, but does have additional damage to make up some of the difference. Other Points Final Thoughts Ugh, I suppose I will have to go do more work on Island Builders if they are giving out no-trade items after all. Rated on September 26, 2020 |
