Power (1/4)
If this weapon had less constraints to activate the draining effect, it would certainly be a staple on beginner and intermediate sets, as it does not take a healer slot. However, the esoteric nature of the max HP, damage taken, and the opponent’s remaining HP requirements make this weapon extremely unviable except for very specific scenarios.

The defensive icons on top of the drain are nice, but certainly not enough to warrant using the Yo-yo before you can activate the draining effect.

Price (2/4)
At the time of writing this review, this weapon sits comfortably in a price range where anyone who would benefit from it can reliably buy it. Be mindful, though, that there might be better options out there for a similar price.

Other (0/2)
If stars align in a way that you can make good use out of this weapon, then do not sleep on it! But it would be disingenuous to recommend it at large.

Alternatives
The most apples-to-apples comparison that can be done comes from the 20 HP drain from Cursed Elixir, which has no conditions and can overheal; and the Crisp Blue Tunic, which boasts a 100 HP drain with similar constraints as this weapon plus a 750 intelligence requirement. Note that, unlike those weapons, the Yo-yo does not take a healer slot.

If what you’re looking for is a way to deal damage, a good attacking weapon might do the trick and even outdamage the Yo-yo after a certain strength threshold (make sure to use a calculator to easily figure that out!). Some examples in increasing order of icons (and price) include Bundle of Burning Birch Branches, Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife...

Price/power (5/5): Most useful for lower-level (but not beginner-level) pets, since 35 isn't much at higher levels. However, its main competitors are the Cursed Elixir, the Lesser Healing Scroll, and the Greater Healing Scroll, all of which are more expensive. The first two are also weaker.

Tactical (5/5): For pets with the right amount of HP to make use of this, this will be a very useful item, especially since it doesn't take up a healing slot. Suddenly, you find yourself able to heal 35 HP more than usual, while doing an unblockable 35 HP worth of damage to your opponent. The defense isn't simply and added bonus either--while it isn't enough to stop your opponent's attack, it could potentially take a nice chunk out of it--enough for the 35 HP heal to make a difference.

Bonus (0/1): Not sure how a spiky yo-yo can provide defense.

Closing remarks: For low- to perhaps mid-level battling, this weapon is worth picking up. The drain will be quite useful.

Price/Power (4/5)
A very cheap 35 healing drain. Beating the Cursed Elixir rather easily. Given how expensive healing items seem to be a 35 hp drain/heal is pretty decent, even if it will only be useful for a very short while.

Countermeasures (4/5)
Unblockable damage and a small amount of defense. Not great, but by no means worthless. Not the item for everyone but it beats out the competition in its space rather handily.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
This beats the Oasis Tonic by way of doing damage- and while it may not provide as much healing as the previously cheap Greater Healing Scroll it still is valuable in this current climate.

Final Thoughts
Given the massive deflation of icons I find it increasingly odd exactly how high good healing items such as the Greater Healing Scroll have risen.
