Ratings - Shuriken
Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (0/3): Sure, you can get this weapon, or you can buy a Sleep Ray instead for a 100% freezer. Power (0/5): Sure, 14 icons when it doesn't freeze is amazing, but you know what's more amazing? Always freezing. Sleep Ray being available as a weekly quest prize has made this and any other under 100% freezer obsolete. Uniqueness (0/2): Percentage freezers aren't rare, and there's plenty 50% ones. Overall it's not worth it anymore. For its price you might as well get a Sleep Ray or try to get it on your weekly quests instead. Because of that its final rating is 0/10. I can't give a rating of 0 however, so it gets a shameful 1 instead. Rated on January 30, 2024 |
Rating: | Price/power (5/5): Its power is absolutely insane for the price. At the time of writing, it can be found for as little as 200k, and there's a good chance that the price might fall even further. 50% freeze chance is about as good as you can get without going for a 100% freezer, but a whopping 14 icons on top of that, every single turn until it freezes?! Tactical (5/5): Even though some of the 14 will almost certainly be blocked, there's no question that enough will get through to do damage. Since it's available for mid-level battlers, it's powerful enough to be used as a main attacker even without the freezing potential. Bonus (0/1): The new king of icon inflation. Closing remarks: This weapon is currently incredibly overpowered. Move aside, Randomly Firing Freeze Ray, there's a new freezer in town... Rated on June 27, 2016 |
Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/Power (2/5) So it finally happened- TJST made this item more in line with honestly what it should have been in the first place. They removed the attack on the freeze turn and in doing so drastically reduced the value of this item. While it is true that the turns leading up to the freeze move still won't be as terrible as they otherwise would be, the turn of the freeze is officially devoid of damage. The idea of adding icons to a freeze move is to reduce the loss taken by not using one of your main attackers, without that there is little point of the shuriken anymore. Given its very high current price tag it is now a worse healer than 100% freezers such as the Magical Marbles of Mystery, Freezing Potion or even the simple H4000 Helmet. Granted the price will likely drop rather soon as supply seeps back into the market, however unless this item falls to around the 2 million mark it should likely be off the radar for most people. Countermeasures (2/5) A freeze is hard to counter, but without the massive burst of icons there is very little here to make this item worth using anymore. Add in the fact that it can (thankfully) no longer be equipped with other freezers and you see the reasons for the massive drop in ratings. If you are still lucky enough to have multiple shurikens equipped to your pet- you may want to consider keeping them on your pet as long as you can justify it. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades As previously mentioned the Magical Marbles of Mystery, Freezing Potion or even the simple H4000 Helmet are all solid choices. While technically this item still beats the Randomly Firing Freeze Ray... ▼ Read More ▼ |
