Ratings - Dagger of the Desert
Rating: | At a Glance (1/3): Swiftly stab your opponent with this relic, inflicting 2 fire, earth, 3 light, and 0.3-3 physical icons. Target the opponent's heart for 0% extra damage! In-Depth (1/4): This weapon features damage spread across many elements, making it not only harder to fully block, but harder to be left unblocked. Blunted Qasalan Gladius Sword, Scarab Ring, and Ancient Gnarled Wand all check this, with most of it mitigated by shields such as Patched Magic Hat, Sophies Magic Hat, and Royal Blue Cape. It wouldn't be as bad if the physical damage was constant rather than variable. Price (0/2): ~50k isn't *that* bad - it's just that there are better alternatives. Throwing Nachos drops the light for more, constant, physical damage for 25k more; Scroll of the Wise and Scroll of the Fool have different variations of elements for ~42k less. And the there's Scroll of Ultranova... Bonus (1/1): You'd think that a weapon borne out of the heart of the desert would've more powerful. Guess not. Final Score: 3/10 Rated on October 25, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/power (1/5): Needs to be more powerful in order to be a good deal. Tactical (3/5): This is a bit of a mixed bag. It's like a weaker version of Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting. Which means it's more likely to be partially blocked by common shields, while also being harder to fully block. Notably, the Studded Leather Cuirass reduces it to 2 icons. The variable physical icons can also be a liability. Bonus (1/1): At least it looks nice. Perhaps it should be wearable? Closing remarks: If you like having a variety of icons, check out the Scroll of the Wise, the Scroll of the Scholar, the Scroll of the Fool, and the Scroll of Knowledge. All of them are better than this dagger. Rated on May 31, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) No. I mean it isn't horrible but at the same time it is still too weak to use. Countermeasures (0/5) Easy to block at least part of, Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Just get a Scroll of the Scholar or similar instead. Other Points Final Thoughts I would rather take the jewel and run. Rated on April 23, 2014 |
