Overview:
In a realm where the Thyoras Tear is as affordable as it's ever been, this little bomb has felt more like a dud ever since.

Accessibility: 0/4
10k is far more expensive than a Single Use item should be; even if payouts from harder challengers have been buffed, using this weapon against them just means you're spending the profit you'd be getting otherwise.

Viability: 3/5
A full block of all icons is still very good, but the fact that it's single use means you'll have to buy another one after the battle. The price will add up very quickly.

Alternatives:
The permanent Thyoras Tear, which while a big purchase, is mercifully a single purchase. You can just jump into your next battle without spending a minute to buy a second one after the first one is used up. But that's a bit expensive still, so you could settle with the weaker but still permanent Downsize!, which is still better for the fact that it won't leave a hole in your pockets.

Bonus points: -2
Single user weapons are a thing of the past, now. With all of them being more expensive than they're worth or falling behind in the world of icon inflation, there's no place for them. I'll spare this one a single extra point for the fact that you can equip it alongside a Thyoras Tear for two full blocks, but there's rarely a place where it can be profitable.

Final notes:
The smoke has, sadly, become little more than dust in the wind.

Initial look- Definitely looks like a bomb too bad it doesn't act like one :(

Defensive Power- 4/5- This is literally a single use Castle Defenders Shield, I mean Thyoras Tear (Both?). If you can't afford either of the before-mentioned full blockers then this, being relatively cheap, does have its uses in one of the many site wide tournaments/leagues. Outside of that...not so much.

Counters- Same exact counter as Thyoras Tear except the added "bonus" that once used you can never use it ever again. Hope you got neo-insurance for it.

Alternatives- If you love wasting a small amount of NP on a potential full block so much you that want to double (or quadruple) down on your "investment", then you may want to pick up its first cousins second brother (twice removed) Downsize Power Plus. And if you want to look dashing as you are heading off into your favorite BD arena, Thyoras Tear.

Bonus- 0/1- Single use items NEVER deserve a bonus. Yes mad.

Overall Rating- 8/10- While you can only use it once, that may just be enough to save you in dark times and get you through the battle; so long as you don't mind buying another one immediately afterwards (which I do). Its a shame they don't teach ninjas more in the Neopian Ninjutsu Engineering Academy...unless being single use is just an elaborate conspiracy to get more of your hard-earned neopoints via making you repay for the same item over and over again...planned obsolesce ftw

Price/Power (4/5)
Another item purely used to push your personal limits in the battledome for one turn. Offers the full blocking effect of the Thyoras Tear but for a fraction of the price. It does add up however and should only be used for special fights.

Countermeasures (5/5)
Nothing can get through this shield besides a faerie ability to block it. That makes it pretty great.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
The aforemeantioned Thyoras Tear is the upgrade, while the downgrade is Downsize! which offers half the blocking power once per battle.

Other Points (No Bonus)

Final Thoughts
Hope it doesn't make your pet cough much.

Thick Smoke Bomb, much like a Jade Elixir or a Scroll of Freezing is a disposable version of a more expensive item, in this case Thyoras Tear.

For roughly 9,000NP a pop, this is not an item that should be used all of the time, but rather for important battles only. In 2-Player tournaments and for tackling Defenders of Neopia, a Thick Smoke Bomb can come in handy.

It should be noted that while only one of these can be equipped, it can still be paired with a Thyoras Tear. As a result some 2-Player tournaments restrict usage to one or the other, assuming that One Use items are not banned altogether.
