Ratings - Jhudoras Curse
|
Rating: | Overview: A curse so potent that nothing could ever hope to dispel it... quite a scary thought, really. But how scary is this one, really? The curse of... taking a small amount of damage one single time? Well, personally, I don't think I really need Illusen's help here, anyway. Accessibility: 0/4 To wield the curse of Jhudora, you must serve as her errand boy for 32 different days. And her desires often dip into the realm of the unbuyable, so you'll have to shell out a lot of NP to get to this point. Viability: 0/5 8 icons is pitiful for a bomb. Thankfully, those icons aren't the only part of it! There are also 24 points of drain to go with it! ...Of which are not healing. But hey, that's still 24 points of unblockable damage, which is fantastic agai- ...wait... that's 24 points maximum... the minimum is ONE!?!? WHY IS THIS CURSE SO WORTHLESS!?!? Alternatives: There's a way to consistently get drain of this level, and it's a lot cheaper... AND it's healing drain. It's called the Cursed Elixir, and it outclasses this curse in pretty much every way. You could also use the Salve for the Bruised Petpet if that level of healing isn't enough for you. For attacking, The Omelette Sceptre and Void Needle hit for much stronger and multi-use! Bonus points: None provided. Final notes: Perhaps using this weapon is the true curse... Rating: | Power (0/4): 8 icons of dark plus some unblockable damage is severly underwhelming, even if you high roll. Even if the draining effect healed you, the inconsistency of the range would put you in a rough spot. It being once per battle makes it even worse. Price (0/4): Getting to Jhudora's level 32 quest is hard on its own right, so this is not something you would get out of your way to obtain. Other (1/2): If they ever tweak this weapon to properly drain and maybe give it a closer range it would excel at what it does. I really hope there's one TNT staffer that looks at these and says "you know what would be mad funny?" and makes my dreams come true. Alternatives: If you're looking for an actual draining weapon, take a look at Cursed Elixir. For everything else, Void Needle and The Omelette Sceptre are your go-to offensive weapons. Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) Look, if this had a healing chance and could happen more than once per battle maybe it'd be good. But a once per battle bomb that only does upwards of 8 icons + 24 damage is underwhelming at best, insulting at worst. Countermeasures (1/5) This may easily be countered through a common item like a Hanso Charisma Charm- but at least the "drain" won't be blockable- nor scale with your strength. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Look, pretty much any bomb will work better; but you'd be better of checking the recommended weapons list for a multiuse that will fill your requirements better. Other Points Final Thoughts This item says "once it clings to you, not even Illusen can wash it away". What if they made this damage over time, and that it would persist until the end of the battle or something. An item like that could be really interesting, say it only does 4 icons and a slight drain- but in return it happens for the rest of the fight. Would you give up an item slot for an item like that? Would you give up a turn of a much stronger attacker for that? Makes you wonder what could happen if TNT decided to be a little more risky. Rated on October 28, 2025 |
