Ratings - Sinister Scythe
Price/Power (0/5)
Obscenely expensive, obscenely rare, marred by a bugged event and weaker than the top item in the actual prize shop. This item has it all- if it all was nothing.

Countermeasures (2/5)
Decent bulk icons there with the dark, but without another three icons to at least bring it up to the 11 icon mark it doesn't do much for me as a 1p battler. (Not to mention how painlessly dark can be blocked these days)

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Something like the Water Powered Pistol is a better example of what both these items are trying to do. Much higher icon count coupled with a chunk of decent defense to a good icon type. Light doesn't do it to me like fire does however.

Final Thoughts
I understand that this may have some league niche use, but that isn't how I rate these things. If you feel that a niche viewpoint is being under represented in the battlepedia- feel free to apply for rater applications and see what happens! We are often looking for more people willing to write reviews.

Price at Time of Rating: 3-5m; in flux and will update once settled

I will give the same review to this weapon and its sister weapon, Glaive of Verdancy, since they are just icon-swaps of each other. This review is geared towards 1P battling, as this weapon may be much more useful for 2P leagues that have specific restrictions.

Overall, this and its sister weapon are disappointingly weak compared to other recently released weapons, while currently being very expensive.

A total of 8 attack + 5 defense = 13 effective icons across three different icon types is decent-ish coverage.

Easily outclassed by other, cheaper weapons that can do 14-16 effective icons.

Frozen Wave Scimitar and Dusty Magic Broom do the same number of attack and defense icons while being cheaper (though still not recommended). A stronger and cheaper dual-duty event prize would be Dacardian Swords of Valor. If you want to prioritize attack, you can opt for the stronger and cheaper Void Blade, Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife, Turned Tooth, etc.

This item's price will likely be in flux over the coming weeks and I will try my best to update these notes as needed. If it drops to a reasonable price, I may consider increasing its rating.
