Ratings - Scroll Potion
Rating: | When it comes to 1P battling, your opponents have 0 intelligence to drain. And in 1P battling, currently the only viable intelligence-based weapons are Heavy Blue Tunic and Crisp Blue Tunic, which require 1000 and 750 intelligence respectively. Scroll Potion is quite rare and expensive at the moment, so you can likely reach your intelligence goals for much cheaper by just reading books or bulk feeding Elixir of Intellect to your pet. Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (2/3): While not incredibly cheap, for what it does its price is great, specially considering it's not a single use potion! Power (3/5): It steals 5 int from your opponent, so there's no way to avoid that. The problem is that it doesn't really help in an actual battle, but it's still useful for training Uniqueness (2/2): For what it does, it's a completely unique way of training to get high amounts of int without needing to read more and more books. Overall it's a decent item. Great at what it does but not much besides that. Because of that its final rating is 7/10. Rated on January 31, 2020 |
Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) While the price of this item may seem prohibitive (and it is, don't get me wrong)- it still offers a pretty unique way for people to build up their INT. The problem is that right now books would still be a much cheaper option. Countermeasures (5/5) If you did decide to use this against someone without their will it likely wouldn't really do them much harm... but it still would work. I mean the only way this would do harm is if your opponent was just on the cusp of using their INT dependent weapon and you decided to stop that. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Books. They are really rather cheap these days so you shouldn't need to go to all the hassle. I mean, to use this 'weapon' effectively you need to find someone with a pet they are willing to give you INT from, have them use the potion, steal said potion, use said potion, and repeat over and over till you are done. However given the price of books I would imagine this would be more expensive... and given the tiny number of items which actually use INT there is no real push to have a glut of it either. Other Points Final Thoughts This item is cool in theory- and if it was for ANY other stat besides INT (and well, movement too) this would be super over powered. But as it stands this is a fun and interesting item that is too far from being practical to use. Rated on January 29, 2016 |
Rating: | Price/power (5/5): Its effects are unique. Tactical (4/5): This is good for ensuring that your opponent stays below a certain level of intelligence. There are weapons that require you to have less than a certain amount of intelligence, and this potion will ensure that you remain capable of using it. This is especially true if you like to read books. The drawback is that you need a reliable friend (or a side account?) to pull this off. Bonus (1/1): It's good to see all kinds of training tools. Closing remarks: Get this if you need it. Rated on April 30, 2015 |
Rating: | Overview: "Go read a book, ya hippie!" The Good: So the Scroll potion is a very useful tool for both elite pets and L97 pets, and the two can have an amazingly symbiotic relationship with the help of this potion. So elite pets will want intelligence to use weapons like Crisp Blue Tunic or Heavy Blue Tunic. L97 participants might want their pets to have low intelligence to avoid cheap weapons like Steaming Skeem Potion. The Bad: Ethical Scroll Potion users are few and far between. I've seen some threads on Battledome Chat where friendly battles turned sour when someone whips this out to an unsuspecting battler. This is besides the fact that the Scroll Potion robs Neopians of the joys of reading hundreds of books to their Neopet. The Ugly Truth: For an upstanding Neopian, the Scroll Potion has some niche use, but for most people, it's a weapon of greif. Rated on February 27, 2014 |
