Overview: In my opinion (& many others) this is the holy grail of all weapons. The WoDF is as complete of a weapon as you’ll find anywhere on Neopets. The WoDF deals anywhere between 20.9 – 29 icons of total damage per turn (for an avg. of 25.4 icons), offers an awesome defensive option in the form of a 75% light icon reflect, & sports the highest multi-heal percentage in the game at 25% of your pet’s maximum hp when he/she is below 25% of their max hp. Simply put, this weapon is an absolute game changer.

Breakdown: This item is a priority weapon, meaning that regardless of which slot you place it in, it will always be used first. As mentioned above, it deals 25.4 icons of damage on average (20 dark icons & 0.9-9 icons of physical), reflects 75% of all incoming light icons, & will heal you 25% of your max hp when your pet is below 25% of their max hp. To top it off, you can currently buy a WoDF for under 40 mil, making it easier to obtain than ever before.

Upgrades: There are none. Because of the tri-duty capabilities of this weapon, it is currently the standard for what it does. You can pay 60+ more mil for a Super Attack Pea if you want a weapon that purely deals more damage, but doesn’t offer any defense or healing capabilities. Similarly there are other options that offer better defense/reflect choices or that can heal your pet more on a single-use basis (not on a multi-use basis), but there’s nothing else that does what the WoDF does at the level it does it.

Downgrades: There are two clear cut realistically affordable downgrades to the WoDF. The first being the WoDF’s counterpart (& best cou...

Initial look- It is THE most legendary weapon in the game. It has always been the apple of many a neopians eye and recently has it become well within the reach of most serious BDers in terms of cost and availability.

Offensive Power- 5/5- Coming in at an average of 25 icons with every blast it is, and has always been, a tremendous force to be reckoned with regardless of what any other player might be packing. Really the only issue with this wand, from an offensive standpoint, is that it uses massive amounts of darkness which, if blocked, can significantly negate the wands total impact. BUT if unfortunate soul which happens to have this monster used against them is not completely prepared to deal with all of the darkness that will be tossed their way then this weapon can easily spell their doom.

Defensive Power- 2/5- When some people first look at the reflective portion they go: "Oh yeah!! 75% of light icons blocked? That's amazing and will be very useful in the midst of battle when I get massive amounts of light thrown at me!". If that's you then, first off, why are you using the word "midst" in a sentence? Is this Neopets or D&D? Second of all, when is the last time you had "massive" amounts of light thrown at you? I didn't think so. Not very useful from a defensive standpoint but I guess, technically speaking, it can save your hide if you happen to get hit with a strong hit from a Faerie Slingshot...or sliced up with Sword of White Lies/Skarls Sword turn. Maybe even a dual Sword of Thigl combo? Yeah right who am I kidding lol

Counters- This is the problem when you put your eggs all in one basket icon wise; full blockers c...

This deserves the 10. At any price this is a complete game changer.

Combined with a clawed shield and enough hitpoints you are pretty much invincible.

At the top top end, when one hit kos are not really a thing, and the idea is to either hit with a multi freeze or get the hit points low and then sucker punch after they used their Jade, this item is a game changer.

Offensively, it's a super SOS with a small bonus of reflection, but the multi heal is worth it at any price. This is the weapon I'm saving my points for should the battledome ever become truly important again.

The only downside is make sure you know your source before buying!

Value 2/3: Hardly a bargain, but for what it does, almost any asking price would be fair.

Tactical 5/6: More power than an anagram sword, defense better than many top-tier multi-million reflectors, and the best multi-healing available in the game. This weapon is a true powerhouse and is a great counter to other top tier weapons like the Sword of White Lies.

The multi-healing is where this weapon truly shines. It scales up the stronger your pet gets, and will allow pets with good defense and high HP the capability to survive almost indefinitely against any opponent, which would be much more relevant if there was HP increase in the battledome (or if defeating war bosses brought a significant reward).

When I first started battling, this weapon's offense was much more frightening. Unfortunately, it is easily countered at the moment, and that drops this weapon's tactical rating to a 5. Ghostkershield shuts this down. Ring of the Lost and Hanso Charisma Charm (currently owned by everyone and their mothers in todays battledome climate) both nearly break even with this, and the one other weapon in the same class as this -Illusens Staff- is a hard counter to this weapon.

True, there's no way to shut down the multi-healing or reflection, but once past the beginner stage in the battledome, just about everybody will have the capability to shut down this weapon's offense. And even at the beginner stage, an Ultra Dark Reflectorb will go far.

Other 1/1: This weapon is legendary. Just about every player who cares about the battledome dreams of owning one of these, and those who don't alre...

20 dark and up to 10 physical icons for an average of ~25 icons - on par with Grapes of Wrath and Attack Pea when it comes to shear power, but wait, there's more! An additional 75% light reflection and finally the real reason to get this: 25% multi-heal (if you have less than 25% of your max HP). Does it get any better? Can you even put a prize tag on something that awesome? Oh, did I state that it doesn't take your healing slot, so you can pair it with Sword of Lameness, Jade Scorchstone, etc.?

Counters: 2/3
Light isn't all that common, so the reflection can be easily bypassed and Dark is pretty easy to block (chances are your opponent is going for Illusens Staff which shreds the attack if he's not going for Wand of the Dark Faerie himself).

Where this really shines is the 25% multi-heal and the only way to counter this is either trying to outdamage you or prevent you long enough from using this (using faerie abilities and/or multi-freezers like Sword of Lameness, Slumberberry Potion or Ice Dice or maybe even the freshly released Thrown Slushie Cup).

Uniqueness: 1/1
Nothing else packs so much power together in a single weapon. This is an absolute must-have if you can afford it.

Bonus: 1/1
Either Wand of the Dark Faerie or Illusens Staff are crucial for boss fights and this is the more powerful and better looking one.

Wand of the Dark Faerie is the ultimate reward for one of the most difficult tasks in the game: completing the Jhudoras Quest chain.

The extreme difficulty, luck, and NP resources needed for a successful quest run result in Wand of the Dark Faerie commanding a price in the hundreds of millions of Neopoints. Although high in price, Wand of the Dark Faerie is well worth it. This weapon boasts three very powerful effects:

1) Wand of the Dark Faerie generates 20 Dark icons and .9 to 9 Physical icons. The Physical icons are separated into three sets of .3 to 3 Physical icons. The key difference between one ordinary set of Physical icons and three small sets on Physical icons is consistency. Wand of the Dark Faerie will tend to hit near its average of 24.95 icons more times than not. The chance of this weapon hitting for its minimum of 20.9 icons or its maximum of 29 icons is only one in a thousand respectively. (10^3) Wand of the Dark Faerie's Physical fractional icons can be somewhat misleading, but it is an offensive force nonetheless. At an average of 24.95 icons, only Ghostkerbomb, Seasonal Attack Pea, and Super Attack Pea offer a stronger average hit.

2) Wand of the Dark Faerie will reflect 75% of Light icons received. This reflection is sort of like a free Combo Battle Mirror on top of the other two awesome effects. Only Superior Reflection Shield is better than Wand of the Dark Faerie at reflecting Light icons.

3) Perhaps the most useful effect Wand of the Dark Faerie has to offer, this weapon will heal the user 25% whenever he or she drops below 25% HP remaining. Better yet, Wand of the Da...

Price/Power (5/5)
Take a Sword of Skardsen, buff it up, add in an over the top healing and reflection and this is what you get. The Wand of the Dark Faerie is one of the Elite items on Neopets and owning one is reserved purely for the elite and the lucky. Similar to the Moehog Skull this unique item is surprisingly not retired which should show just how powerful it is and how hard to obtain to retain this price. Not only does it do a powerful burst of darkness, but the multi-heal nature of it allows it to keep a pet going much longer then it should, especially when combined with a high HP and a Sword of Lameness.

Countermeasures (4/5)
Darkness is easy to block and someone using a Hanso Charisma Charm can almost completely block the attacking side of this weapon... However, given the healing it is still worth using even if you are partially blocked like this as there is little you can do to stop that. Assume you have 240hp left of your 1,000, instant 250hp heal. Bam.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Being an elite item there isn't really any alternatives or upgrades which would replace this item... However a Illusens Staff is a clear downgrade to it with only a slight decrease in healing potential. Realistically the only upgrade I could suggest for this is pairing it with a Sword of Lameness. Epic item

Other Points (No Bonus)

Final Thoughts
Finally one faerie item which actually lives up to the expected power of these magical beings. Wonder how expensive it would get if it ever retired?

Power/Price (5/5): Arguably one of the best weapons in the game. 25.4 average icons dealt is nothing to laugh at. Add to that 75% light reflection and the ability to heal your pet 25% when it has 25% or less HP and you've got serious fire power. All this comes at a hefty price though. Although unattainable by most, nothing else in the game does what this does (Except the less powerful Illusens Staff ).

This weapon has the potential to keep your pet alive forever given you have more than 1300-1500 HP. It is multiuse so you can heal turn after turn and does not take up a healing slot. Pair this up with a Sword of Lameness and your pet is virtually unstoppable.

Countermeasures (4/5): There are a lot of full dark defenders on the market right now, namely Hanso Charisma Charm and Ghostkershield. Even if WoDF doesn't get a full attack in, it works on so many levels that it remains dangerous. The potential reflection deals an additional icon type and healing is not blockable. You can't stop someone from healing.

Bonus (1/1): Rare, elite and pretty much unattainable. It has this status because it's just that good.

In 1-Player, this weapon will guarantee you wins against almost any opponent.

In 2-Player, this weapon isn't usually expected. With the abundance of dark blockers people are starting to stray away from dark dealing weapons. That means that people might not be carrying dark blockers in their set. It all depends. Considering how rare this is, not many other opponents will have the ability to heal continuously and thus put them at a disadvantage.

Alternative: N...
