Bonus (1/1): If I remember correctly, this was an important weapon back in the day, though not quite as widely used as the Lost Desert Dagger. Rating: | Like every other user that discovered Neopets without the help of an experienced friend, I stumbled around the Battledome at first. Without the knowledge that comes from the Neoboards and help sites, I (laughably) rocked weak species items like Bruce Battle Blade and Bruce Fish Slingshot my first few battles. Fortunately, I soon learned of the (original) in-Depth Battlepedia and the Battledome Chat, and I was set on the right path with my very first six-iconer, the Scarab Stone Slingshot. That was many years ago. The year 2004 to be precise. In the decade since, six-iconers have fallen out of favor. Beginner-level Battledome weaponry has grown in power over the years while the upper-level metagame has remained mostly stagnant. Scarab Ring trumped normal six-iconers with its defense. Then came weapons like Obsidian Dagger and Enchanted Wooden Bow that provided modest increases in power. Before long, nine-iconers like Stone Club and Psellias Fighting Fan were restocking regularly, and after years of Brightvale prizes like Rainbow Scroll nine-iconers became just as cheap as the six-iconers of the past. New battlers (or cheap battlers) have it easy these days. Weapons like Scroll of the Fool and Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer provide far more power than the six-iconers of the past, and Scroll of Knowledge provides a little bit more for just a small additional investment. Six-iconers inside the Battledome are now long gone, but the memories remain in veteran battlers' hearts. Rated on March 23, 2015 |
