A new item has been added to the Hidden Tower today:
This new capsule is priced at 200,000,000 NP and when opened, awards a random item from Smuggler's Cove along with a new avatar called Ahoy!:
And to confirm, the avatar is awarded for only opening a single capsule. No need to buy multiples like the Hidden Tower capsule released in 2024!
We are still working to confirm each possible item awarded from this new capsule. The capsule itself cannot be purchased or traded with other Neopians.
As many of the items inside are very old, we are still missing Estimated Values for a number of them. If you receive an item we are missing information on, please let us know! However, when you open the capsule, it will initially overwrite the Estimated Value to be that of the capsule: 200,000,000 NP. In order to see the correct Estimated Value showing on the item, you will need to move it somewhere, like your shop or Safety Deposit Box, and then back to your inventory.

They really need to update some of the older rare weapons and give them worthwhile stats. I'd suggest they work with their Battledome Ambassador (and maybe have them pick a group of veteran BD players), I'm not quite sure if TNT really knows what would be considered worthwhile but not make them OP or fall short to an existing weapon. I would make some suggestions right now but JN is still gathering data on what items it gives out (yes, you'd think it would be all the Cove items, but if that's the case that would include Super Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, Grapes of Wrath, A Grey Faerie Doll, and Ancient Hourglass; if true then, depending on your luck, you'll really win or really lose... not that some people haven't already...).
For me, as a more casual Avatar collector and likely will never get the "Avatar Collector" Avatar, while I'm guaranteed to get the Avatar I just don't know whether 200 mil is worth the gamble.
Honestly I feel the prices for both the Retired HT and now Smugglers Cover Capsule is just a bit high.

good, I like the capsules in Hidden Tower. I don't think the price point is really worth it (the other one certainly isn't), but I'd like to see this for other harder to obtain items or retired items (AC prize shops anyone?? :O) at more reasonable costs

hmm 1/3 of my total in bank for one avatar is a bit too much for me. *meanwhile in the back of my brain* maby if i save up for 3 years worth of intrest ... no i cannot justify the costs for a avatar i would not use + a tiny chance to get some of my investment back with some semi decent hidden cove item.

Maybe make it work like the Magma Pool where for each user there's just a few minutes each day where they can catch the pirates and be offered a Cove item. It would also be a good time to get rid of Cove Items that have been placed elsewhere (such as Pirate Jelly, Grey Faerie Doll, Ancient Hourglass, and Grapes of Wrath) and replacing/adding in new Cove Items. They could even keep this Capsule in the Hidden Tower as a "guaranteed" way of getting a Cove Item.

Ooof. I guess If i am desperate for that one avatar, I'll grab, but I'll likely wait on this one. I understand the reuse of older avatars, but I wish for something this pricy it was a little bit nicer. I guess still good to get those items back in circulation (though with how many doubloons I have no use for, I think the cove would have been nice too.)

I guess only old relics who are so well versed In neopian economy will understand their approach with the price. Those of us who can't afford It, or much less think It's nuts to pay for yet another gacha should just Ignore this capsule even exist. Don't delve so hard Into neopets

Now that I think about It, wouldn't this be the new most expensive Item to pay In a restockable shop?
Like, a few months back It was the Hidden Tower capsule that got a 500% Increase, but before that the peak price would be 30m from the Focus of Imminent Demise (I could be wrong since Idr retired Items prices).
It just makes me wonder, If they ever drop something more expensive than this cove capsule, would It be a billion expensive?

i’m shocked people are complaining about this. there are tons of people on the site with maxed out bank accounts and we were in desperate need for a massive np sink! personally i collect avatars but this would wipe out all my savings so i’ll pass. but i like that they did this!

I guess it is kind of funny watching the rich folks desperately trying to sell incredibly low demand stuff for most of what they paid for the capsule. I've waited this long for the one item I've needed for my gallery--guess I can wait a bit longer til they've underpriced each other down to something reasonable.

In like 5 days exactly... or was It In a week? and that's the current price on the Retired Hidden Tower capsule. Also, unlike this cove capsule you needed to buy five hidden tower capsules to unlock the avatar. Imagine doing that now, you need to spend 50 millions for five days wasting a total of 250 millions neopoints for 5 retired hidden tower Items and the avatar
