It all comes down to this! Your final Blizzard Brawl '24 challengers have arrived!
It looks like your days of skimming treasure off the top of the Snowager's hoard have finally caught up with you... is what I would say if you weren't about to send him and his assistant back into hibernation. You can do it, right?

Yeahhhhh, getting hit by even 5 Air icons deals like 1700 damage to me. Not sure who at TNT decided this was ok balance back in the day (this is on MEDIUM!!! Not even the hardest difficult), but I imagine you'd have to have at least 5000+ HP to even stand a reasonable chance.

I managed to cut Snowagers hp in half (on medium) before he killed me. I will keep trying various combos of weapons and hope to get lucky. Easy was easy tho.

I'm sure there *are* Neopians who can defeat Snowy on Medium, but I'm not in that rarified society, so I'll take my OTK/OHK on Easy and be content. Thanks for making the challenges meaningful, JN, sorting the serious BD'ers from the rest of us!

Normal/Mighty, nope the ppl that can are those 250 in there with the highest HSD, and I kneww the snowager would be a combatant cuz its the name of the event

Alas, my pet is no match for the Snowager even on Easy. I will take this L and actually work on training instead of just using the lab ray...

Can anyone beat snowy on medium here? I don't hit heavy enough to get him, even with the reflect ability. Just curious to see others methods!

I've only tried once on Medium today, and barely scratched him. I have a decent battle set, I think, but I don't really know what I'm doing. I do have 6299 HP, but it doesn't help if I'm not doing enough damage.

That's because of an oversight on TNT's side that lets opponents have uncapped boosts (unlike players, who are capped at 750). For BD opponents, their starting difficulty is their boost (so 16500 for Snowager on Medium).

You'll have to use a combination of Hubrids Puzzle Box and Sword of Lameness and possibly 80-99% reflectors. It's the only way to beat those high-boost challengers.

I have hubrids puzzle box, but it just doesn't do enough damage. I can't stay alive past the fourth round. Of course I only have 1850 hp.

1850 HP isn't enough. Hubrids Puzzle Box will drain 1/3 of their HP, so you gotta reflect the rest of the damage and have enough HP that SoL + WoDF/IStaff can keep you healed.

That's what I thought. I sure wish there was a more affordable way to gain hp. Makes me wish I had started training much earlier.

Today's Victory Spoils:
* Scout (Score 258/Max
): Scrap of multi-layered polymers
* Snowager (Score 750
): Frozen shield
... Well, actually the last one isn't a victory spoil but more I need a hairdryer to unthaw my shield.
My battling Neopet doesn't have the HP. When on the Neoboards 'pets with over 6k are having difficulty defeating it on Medium, I'm not going to kid myself.
And I guess that does it for me, I'll wait for the final post to give more full thoughts.

Glad to see all your recaps this year!!! It helps having someone posts the scores so everyone can double check.
As for me, it was fun being able to easily beat all the challengers this year (except for the Snowager on anything harder than the easiest difficulty). I wish there had been at least one more of the "strong" challengers (maybe someone like the Giant Hungry Malevolent Chomby, Kastraliss, or even the Qasalan Mummy) to provide more of a stepping stone before the Snowager.
