Overview:
Y'know, I was considering giving a positive "I think we're being too harsh on this weapon" review. But now we got a four-digit 65% healer and now I think the tanking is warranted.

Accessibility: 0/4
Now that we have a 65% healer that's getting close to dirt cheap, a 50% healer isn't super appealing now, even with the Air block.

Viability: 0/5
That's without mentioning that this being an OPB weapon makes the air blocking less appealing. Looks like I might have to make a percentage version of the Greater Healing Scroll benchmark, since this doesn't pass it compared to...

Alternatives:
The Sefira Gold Feather. I challenged myself not to mention it by name up until now, but this little thing really killed off every 50% and below healer silently. And of course there's the Leaded Elemental Vial, which I don't think replaces this weapon entirely like everyone else does, but it's definitely the upgrade.

Bonus points:
None provided.

Final notes:
This weapon used to be one of the faces of power creep when it released. But nowadays, this soup is oh so cold.

Power (0/4):
Imagine being an item designed to curb the healing item power-level-to-price dilemma we had in our hands a couple of years ago.

Then, imagine the item you're actively being the stepping stone for being mass released in a way that makes you completely obsolete.

I think Feel Better Soup might actually need a feel better soup too.

Price (1/4):
I guess it's still worth noting that it's more affordable than non-% healers?

Other (0/2):
The air blocking is kinda nice and it's on brand with TNT releasing healers that also block icons. However, it's still not enough to recommend it.

Alternatives:
Leaded Elemental Vial. Took me long enough to mention it by name, innit?

If while reading this review you thought that blocking air would be a nice addition to your set, then look into Shield of Faerieland as a multiuse alternative to this.

Picture this: it's December 29, 2022. Parachuting First Aid kit, the best buyable percentage healer that didn't care about your pet's species was, in fact, no longer buyable. Neopia had lost its healing hero. Then, the very next day, TNT released the second-best effect on a once-per-battle healer of all time. For free. In the Advent Calendar.

In my opinion, this healer is second only to the three-way-tie of insanely expensive 100% healers: Jade Scorchstone, Leaded Elemental Vial, and the expensive-even-for-an-expensive-item Jewelled Scarab.

If you got this for free during the Advent Calendar, congratulations: you now have access the second-most-powerful healing effect ever unleashed upon this beautiful blue marble we call Neopia. You should probably be using it unless you have a healer that heals more than 50% of your pet's maximum HP, like if you're using a Greater Healing Scroll or Helm of Recovery with a pet with less than 100 maximum HP. Even then, if you got this for free and you don't have one of those, this may still be worth picking up. Because this heals 50% of your pet's max HP, your pet will never outgrow this item - even if your pet has thousands of HP, you'll still be healing 50% of it with this item.

This item would be a 10/10 even if it didn't do anything in addition to healing. It just so happens that, incredibly enough, if we continue reading this item's entry, it does in fact do something other than heal. I like to imagine that the air defense is there because it uses you use your opponent's air attack to cool off the soup before you eat/drink it.

Thanks to that air defense, this item to...

Does this really need a rating? If your pet has more than a nominal amount of HP and you do not have one of the two best healers in the game (Leaded Elemental Vial and Jade Scorchstone), This should be on the short list to be the healer of choice.

If your pet has more than 120 HP, the Soup outclasses Rejuvenating Jar of Brains. The Soup is also a direct upgrade to Bag of Healing Dust adding air defense. Add the fact this item is still relatively inexpensive, being only a fraction of the cost of BoHD, and Soup is an obvious upgrade. If you still are Soup-less, get one... or else No Soup for you! :D

While this is a phenomenal healer, LEV and JSS are clear upgrades and should both have a higher rating.

EDIT: When this review was first written LEV and JSS were both less than 50m. With the large price disparity even more apparent, this weapon's score was bumped up.

EDIT 2: And now, LEV is buyable. This is still a great healer, but a full, reliable healer is preferred over this.

Price/Power (2/5)
You know, I was expecting this to get downgraded on release- I didn't have "devalue the LEV to nothing" on my bingo card. Price wise this should drop dramatically and stay dropped due to the recent changes in the market, people who are stockpiling and hoarding this item will likely have lost a lot of money. So I'll give a couple of bonus points on that. Realistically 50% is "fine" but when you can get a full healer for a little bit more? Well, let's just say the once off air blocking doesn't do much to change my mind on its value.

Countermeasures (0/5)
While ONE TURN of air blocking is nothing to write home about; it is a minor if a little strange addition to an otherwise unfortunately now worthless healer.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
This replaced MOST species percentage healers and the much more expensive Bag of Healing Dust. Until the mass release of the Leaded Elemental Vial, which while I am sure people will eventually attempt to inflate again, will likely never reach the heights of being too expensive ever again. There are literally thousands of LEVs out there now.

Final Thoughts
Who would have ever thought they'd give out a Bag of Healing Dust level healing item FOR FREE. Wow.

Is what I said before they gave out a bleeping Elemental Vial out for free. At this point literally nothing surprises me anymore.
