Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) While I know this does have some niche uses, for an average 1P battler there are many better options out there. Countermeasures (0/5) Decent spread- but not enough pushing power to make it worth using. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades I never like Dual Duties to be fair- I'd suggest some bulk icon dealers like a Flask of Liquid Fire or similar instead. There are also dual duties which defend percentages too. Other Points Final Thoughts This is one of the many items I avoided rating because I didn't care for the league reasons. But now I am running out of items to rate, and quotas must be done. Rated on September 29, 2022 |
Rating: | At a Glance (1/3): This pugio will strike your opponent for 2 fire and earth icons, and 0.5-5 physical, while deflect 3 light and earth. Overall, this handy dandy dagger has an average of 12.75 (10.5-15 icons) total icons. In-Depth (2/4): It's offense is a bit lacking, being easily blocked by many low-leveled shields and is pretty vulnerable to Scarab Ring and Sophies Magic Hat. But that's to be expected from a dagger. You don't rely on its power - you use it to parry and counter! Hanso Charisma Charm, Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting, and Scroll of Knowledge comes to mind that would fear going toe-to-toe with this. Any combos that has earth or light in it is fair game, and there's quite a bit of both to go around. It's pretty flexible, therefore, and can be combined with other shields or constants, or even other dual duties (like maybe Frozen Water Daggers)! Use this flexibility to your advantage in battle. Price (2/2): You will get quite a bit of bang (or rather, clang) for your buck with this, as 6k is a pretty light price tag compared to Patched Magic Hat. Bonus (1/1): Roman army inspired weaponry ftw! Ok, I wouldn't call myself a Roman Military fan, b/c I'd be a terrible, unknowledgeable one. I guess it just stems from my fond enjoyment of all my Latin classes (and the Roman parties we had hehe)! Final Score: 6/10 Rated on May 31, 2014 |
Rating: | Value 3/3: Now that this was a Spooky Food Contest prize, it's price has dropped to 5-10k (for a little while, at least). While the price is that low, 12.75 icons (on average, range: 11.5-15) for such a low price is a great bargain. Tactical 5/6: This is the only weapon I'm aware of to match the functionality of the Scarab Ring so closely, and it does that at a very low price. The defense is stellar. Both light and earth icons are very common in popular average (non-multi-million) sets. Unfortunately, the earth+fire+physical combo is also very common and it will be easy to knock out some of this weapon's offense with many shields. On top of that, this weapon loses to the Scarab Ring head to head. Combined with the Scarab Ring it gives solid defense against a variety of icons and does reasonable damage. Other 1/1: This is a superb weapon right now. It's highly affordable. It deals a respectable number of icons for it's price and the defense is excellent. It also doesn't do so many icons that it would be banned from L97 battling. For as long as that remains popular this will be an option worthy of consideration. Rated on October 13, 2013 |
Rating: | Price/power (0/5): Much more expensive than it should be, though it's possible that its price will drop eventually. Still, it should be doing more damage. Tactical (3/5): The defense is useful, but the attack is extremely unreliable and is also vulnerable to the likes of Scarab Ring and Sophies Magic Hat. It's also reduced to 2 icons by many good shields at this level. Bonus (0/1): Way too expensive to be a mere sidearm. Closing remarks: While this weapon has unique defense for a dual duty (it's only covered by some expensive species weapons), it's simply not worth the trouble. Get a Studded Leather Cuirass if you like the defense, or go for a different dual duty. Rated on April 28, 2013 |
