Initial look- Not sure what my fellow raters were going on about when reviewing this weapon but, to me, this thing is straight trash; just like most reflectors.

Defensive Power- 2/5- Hard to believe but this thing is actually WORSE than its cousin Ultra Dual Shovel. At least the shovel has some merit by being able to potential combat a few high Earth icon, elite weapons. The best thing you can hope to counter wielding this over-sized drain pipe is Kelpbeards Trident, Sword of Tawre or **gasp** Icicle lol. On the mid-tier level Water Powered Pistol also wouldn't fare well versus this but even then ALL of those, and more, could be dealt with by using a Faerie Tabard instead.

Counters- None that I know of except, you know, NOT using water based weapons...which isn't really that difficult to do. In fact, in my own personal set, the only "weapon" I have that does any sort of water damage is Icicle (Yes, the ability).

Alternatives- Instead of using this you could try a few water blockers like the less expensive Faerie Tabard or the even more less expensive Enchanted Kiko Squeeze Toy. If you want a bit of firepower Dung Catapult can be of service, if you don't mind the smell. Not sure why you wouldn't go with the Tabard but any of these options would be better.

Bonus- 0/1- The only redeeming quality about this is that it has the potential to send back 100% of the icon it blocks. Definitely not enough to qualify for a bonus.

Overall Rating- 3/10. I know this seems to be highly touted among my rater peers, but I just don't see what they're seeing when it comes to this broken pipe. And if YOU d...

Value 2/3: 80-100% water reflection for several million NP is a very reasonable price. Consider that the asking cost for Clawed Shield has risen to around 10M NP (and that for 60-80% reflection), and consider that water is more common than fire. This weapon has a great function for a reasonable price. It's not a steal anymore like it was when it was being sold in the Hidden Tower, but the asking price is fair.

Tactical 6/6: This weapon earns a full 6 points for it's incredible tactical potential. It is not universally useful.

Most defensive items are a bit of a risk to use because even if you block many icons with a shield, oftentimes you only break even or slow their assault a little bit. However, if you use this weapon when your opponent uses a mass water weapon, not only do you stop the water, you send it back at them. That means timing this weapon correctly will not only break even--it will put you ahead. However, the moments when you could use this are limited to when you are highly confident your opponent will be using a mass water weapon on their next turn. If your opponent can rotate in weapons that deal other icons, this defensive item loses most of its usefulness.

Other 1/1: An 80-100% reflector is a rare thing, and and this one is especially useful against the some of the most affordable and most popular 2p weapons (Kelpbeards Trident and Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy) as well as powerful against some challenging Defenders of Neopia opponents.

Price/Power (4/5)
This is one of the more powerful reflectors in the game to begin with, however once it retired its price jumped dramatically. While it is still a great item even for this price, I had to dock it some points due to the fact it is now retired and the price will only jump higher and higher over time.

Countermeasures (5/5)
It is hard to get through such a powerful reflection, to have your blasts of power thrown right back at you can cause some very serious last minute scrambling. Changing weapons is really the only way to get past this if you are stuck using water. Water is a really common icon type in the battledome today, Kelpbeards Trident, Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy and Sword of Tawre all being relatively more common then you would expect... Add on to this the fact that with the retiring of this and the Enchanted Kiko Squeeze Toy water blocking is less expected then it was before.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
The Enchanted Kiko Squeeze Toy provides a cheaper blocking power, and the Faerie Tabard provides awesome shielding along with full blocking and ISN'T retired...

Other Points (No Bonus)

Final Thoughts
This has always been one of the items I looked up to on Neopets, however unlike the Fire and Ice Blade at least this one is half decent.

U-Bend of Great Justice is the best Water Reflector in the game. Prior to being retired, it was only valued in the range of 1.5M to 1.6M, but after retiring its price jumped to 7M to 9M. Still, it is hard to put an unreasonable price tag on a weapon that performs like no other can. When reflecting Water icons is the task at hand, no other weapon can outperform the U-Bend of Great Justice. That is my definition of 10/10 rating, but let's dive deeper into the possible uses of this weapon.

In 1-Player, this weapon can prove to be very useful against Water-heavy opponents, namely Chiazilla, the Snowager, and the Snowbeast. This weapon makes it exceptionally easy to defeat the Snowbeast for Defenders of Neopia mission 11; in fact, that's how I beat the Snowbeast the first time. :P

In 2-Player, this weapon relies heavily on proper timing. This weapon excels at stopping Kelpbeards Trident, but in the Anagram era it has gotten much more difficult to predict attacks. The ability to reflect Kelpbeards Trident, Sword of Tawre, and Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy, is a high risk, high reward ordeal. Because of the unpredictable nature of Anagram Swords today, most battlers forgo tactical weaponry such as this weapon to load up their set with as many Anagram Swords as possible.

However, if you are aware that your opponent is carrying and actively using a Water-based weapon, you may want to take the gamble of using this U-Bend. Mistiming the U-Bend against a non-Water attack could prove fatal, but timing it correctly could swing the odds in your favor. Like any reflector, it takes guts to use the U-Bend of Great Ju...
