Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) Icon wise, this just doesn't provide the pushing power especially when you consider how many icons recent releases have provided. Countermeasures (0/5) Attack is mostly blocked by many common shields, and with water being used commonly, it is more likely this'll be blocked without much work or thought.. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Magic Gridlock Gun is the way to go- it is a lot more expensive but without a doubt is worth it.. A cheaper Scroll of the Scholar may also work in a pinch, but to get the best value for money you will require straying from the icon loyalty. Rating: | Oversized Maractite Rune Sword is a cheap Dual Duty offering 7 icons of offense paired with 3 icons of Water defense. As a R91, this weapon can be found for a low price of roughly 20k. 10 total icons is not very strong, but at such a low price this total is just enough for consideration. Water icons are commonly found in lower-level play, meaning the defense of Oversized Maractite Rune Sword will come into play against weapons like Rainbow Scroll, Throwing Cutlass, Pike Pike, Flaming Blooble Potion, Maractite Water Cannon, Steaming Skeem Potion, and Essence of Esophagor. However, if Oversized Maractite Rune Sword is not blocking Water icons, it is failing to serve its purpose. The 7 icons attack is less than what is desirable, and cheap weapons like Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Scroll of Ultranova will easily outmatch this sword. Additionally, Water defense is not exactly difficult to find on the Shop Wizard. Leaf Shield and the Dual Duty Sophies Wooden Spoon offer superior Water protection. Other Dual Duties like Frozen Wand of Crystals and Amulet of Altador block Water icons and crush Oversized Maractite Rune Sword head-to-head. If Oversized Maractite Rune Sword had a slightly stronger attack or a better icon assortment, it may be more useful, but as is, it only fringes on being useful. Rating: | Price/power (5/5): Out of all water blocking dual duties that have a decent attack, this is about as good as it gets. Tactical (3/5): Attack is easily blocked and is especially vulnerable to Leaf Shield, Shiny Shoal Shell Shield, and Virtupets X-514 Super Shield. Water defense is usually better handled by a shield, but if you have something like Sophies Magic Hat then it makes a lot of sense to have a water-blocking dual duty. Bonus (1/1): This is quite a nice weapon, especially considering that it's made from maractite, a material that's very rarely made into worthwhile weapons. Closing remarks: Due to the price of this sword, the Frozen Wand of Crystals is no longer as viable as it used to be. Look at Sophies Wooden Spoon for better water defense in a dual duty.
