Legendarily legendary... for its time.

Power: Once upon a time, 12.75 icons was strong. This and Ylanas Blaster, which both sat at about the 1m mark, were a major stepping stone between what was buyable and the Hidden Tower. The Neoquest 2 weapons were more expensive, but offered the full 13 icons. Your next best steps up were the Anagram-level constants: Sword of Skardsen, Kelpbeards Trident...

...but now, let's fast-forward to 2019. We've got buyable 14 and 15-icon constants now! Not just Turned Tooth and Bowling Ball of Lost Cities, but the 14-icon Yooyu Knuckle Duster, Tyrannian Sceptre, and Magic Gridlock Gun exist, and are all much cheaper than this is while providing stronger attacks. Even the very cheap Poisonous Mushroom Tea is better than this. I mean, seriously? A legendary sword, weaker than some fungal tea? Who would have guessed it?

Price:

Now, if this deflated to, say, 10k or so, it'd still be a decent buy... but it's not that price at all, instead hovering around the 800k mark or something like that. Buyable these days, yes, but why buy that when you can buy two Turned Tooth and a Jhudoras Potion for that money and still have some left over? You wouldn't, unless you really liked Brynn, or are going off very old information.

Conclusions:

I admit that I'm rating this a little more harshly than I otherwise would, because... really? A 9? For this outdated junk? Not on my watch, not anymore.

Once upon a time, this would be your top plot prize. Now, we've got Blaze. I think the Legends and Letters sword is a lot better than Brynn's Legenda...

Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting, is a member of the '13' icon family added by the Faeries Ruin prize shop. Typically shortened to just Brynns Sword, this weapon actually does 12.75 icons. This difference in icons is small, even smaller than Ylanas Blaster's difference in pictured icons. Along with Ylanas Blaster, Brynns Sword is typically one of the cheaper 13-iconers. Altador Cup Throwing Star, Wand of Reality, and Bow of Destiny are usually slightly more expensive.

At a price of roughly one million Neopoints at the time of this review, Brynns Sword is a common upgrade for Scroll of Knowledge, and it is typically succeeded by Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy. Brynns Sword is fairly priced given its power and its power compared to surrounding weapons. This weapon features four different icon types, which is somewhat more scattered than what is to be desired, but the spread is not a major issue for 1-Player battlers. Brynns Sword is better suited for 1-Player use than for 2-Player use.

In 2-Player, Dual Duty weapons like Rusty Pitchfork and Deadly Pugio can punish Brynns Sword. Even the lowly Scarab Ring can reduce Brynns Sword to 6.75 icons head-to-head. Hidden Tower shields like Ghostkershield, Faerie Tabard, and Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour also greatly reduce Brynns Sword's attack. The Physical icons of Brynns Sword are particularly easy to block, but if paired with another heavy Physical weapon, only a full Physical blocker like Altadorian Swordbreaker will be able to block the entire Physical onslaught.

Overall, the more expensive 13-iconers Altador Cup Throwing Star...

Price/power (5/5): 1 million NP for 13-ish icons is cheap compared to the NQII weapons. This continues a trend starting with Ylanas Blaster, which was so cheap that some people thought it "broke the Battledome".

Tactical (3/5): This is highly vulnerable to Sophies Magic Hat, Virtupets X-514 Super Shield, and Wanderers Cloak. Due to the icon spread over 4 types, it is also very easily to partially block, though fully blocking it is more difficult.

Bonus (1/1): Thanks to Ylanas Blaster and Altador Cup Throwing Star, this sword is likely to remain one of the cheapest 13-iconers for a long time.

Closing remarks: Most battlers at this level will have either this, Ylanas Blaster, or Altador Cup Throwing Star. Many will have more than one of the above.

Final score: 9/10
