Ratings - Lightning in a Bottle
Rating: | There's one somewhat notable niche that this item has over its competition that comes into play specifically when you're trying to farm codestones. This item, as of the posting of this review, can be purchased for under 40k rather easily; you can probably get it for a good bit less. That's not bad for 15 icons, but why bother with this over Turned Tooth when this is once-per-battle and the Tooth is multi-use? Simple: This item delivers a guaranteed 15 icons compared to the Tooth's minimum 13. But does it matter? As it turns out, if your pet has the 55 strength boost, it does. With a pet whose strength is in the range of 55 to 84, one of these alongside a Jhudoras Potion deals a minimum of 64 damage when used with Lens Flare. This doesn't quite guarantee a one-hit knockout on Koi Warrior on Easy, falling just 1 HP short. However, using a Tooth instead of this lowers the minimum damage to 60, which makes the Tooth a less consistent partner for the Potion than this. Let's run the numbers: In this scenario, using Jhudoras Potion with this item will only fail to one-shot if the Potion deals its absolute minimum damage, which will only happen around 1% of the time. Meanwhile, Turned Tooth does its minimum damage around a third of the time, and when this happens, Jhudoras Potion will need to do at least 20 icons of actual damage. This fails to happen sometime between Admittedly, Jhudoras Potion will set you back a bit more than either Turned Tooth or this item, but as of this posting, it's still buyable (and a bargain for its power level). I'll also admit that this i... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) Look, it offers decent damage (even for today's inflated era)... While I wouldn't go out of my way to BUY one- if I got one free and had a spare icon slot there could be worse uses of my time. The fact that it is "once per battle" rather than "one use" is the main highlight here. Countermeasures (1/5) Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades If all you are looking for is icon count- the Bowling Ball of Lost Cities offers the same level of attack for cheaper and is multi-use. If you want fire, perhaps consider the Flask of Liquid Fire instead Other Points Final Thoughts I suppose you could say this weapon really gives the battledome a JOLT. Rated on August 31, 2018 |
Rating: | Looks super cool, and it falls into the under appreciated bomb category, but is objectively just not strong enough to be part of your arsenal. The price will stabilize over time but r97s don't come cheap typically. Rated on July 12, 2018 |
