Rating: | NOTE: This review is based on preliminary testing, if the icons are updated, I might have to change my review - 3/30/14 Overview: What do you get when you take a cheap Scarab Ring and remove its offensive capabilities? This piece of junk. The Good: The art is kinda cool. The Air Faerie Shield kinda reminds me of a rune of some sort. The Bad: The Air Faerie Shield is the defense of the Scarab Ring without the 6 offensive icons. So despite being more expensive, it's actually weaker, as this is defensive only. But let's forget for a minute that the cheap and effective Scarab Ring exists. Looking at other alternatives there's the Nurias Battle Shield which currently sells for under 10np and blocks only 2 physical but adds defense of 3 water to overcompensate. Then there's the Scamander Shield, which I also think is a better shield than the Air Faerie Shield, even though I'm not that fond of it. The Ugly Truth: The Air Faerie Shield is for galleries only. The looks are cool, but it's so wimpy, I can't even give it a bonus point for looks. If you like the icons, look to a Scarab Ring first and if that doesn't suit you, look at the Nurias Battle Shield Rated on March 30, 2014 |
