Chuck one of these powerful novae at your opponent and watch as the entire arena gets bathed in a total of 9.8 icons of celestial power for your opponent, while healing you for ~13.5 hp!
This item is unique among the nova weapons in that it is considered to be fragile rather than one use. This means that it can be used multiple times per match. Its power is juuuuuuuuust below the 10-11 icon standard set by Sun and Moon Chakram and Scroll of Knowledge. It gets blocked easily by Royal Blue Cape and Wanderers Cloak, and gets chipped away by a variety of budget dual duty weapons, making it rather dangerous to spam.
Where the nova truly shines, though, is in its healing capabilities. It can heal on average 13.5 hp per turn used. This isn't much on pets that fight in leagues that, ironically, allow multihealing, but it makes quite a bit of difference against weaker pets. Additionally, it doesn't take up the healer slot, so if you wanted to, you could fill your entire set up with ultranovae (but once you're out of them, you're done for)!
This nova used to be the most expensive one, costing a good 8k or so a pop. With that in mind, even as a fragile weapon, the costs would've piled up However, thanks to the Cosmic Dome, they're now pennies in comparison.
Dark Nova is the darker, single use, slightly weaker and cheaper alternative nova.
Couple of thoughts:
1) This is either the worst fragile weapon in neopia (50% chance to break??), or the best single use weapon (50% chance to not be single use???).

|Value 3/3: The cosmic dome opponents are dropping these like candy, and the price has dropped accordingly|
Tactical 4/6: The offense of an ultranova combined with healing, and a chance that it won't break. This is a great weapon for battlers at a low level where strength boosts are low enough that healing a few HP is more significant than dealing a few extra icons of damage.
Other 0/1: Another unprecedented bomb-type weapon, but it might heal a low amount of hp or break on the first use (chance is about 50/50) and there are cheap muffins that deal 15 icons guaranteed, so this isn't always the best option as it can shoot you in the foot.
Conclusion: More low-level battlers should be aware of this as an option in their fights.

A almost 10 icon attack which will also heal and has a chance not to break? While it may not be the most useful in the world it does have limited uses for pets which may otherwise not have a healer. Being fragile you do have the chance of healing more then once with it.
This is a rather nice combination of items, though it can be easily blocked it is hard to entirely stop. Healing is nice, if a little weak. At least you can have multiple at once.
Alternatives, Upgrades or Downgrades
If you can sacrifice the healing ability you can get a 15 icon Battle muffin instead which may help. As for healers, there are many which heal more then the average of this healer.

An interesting opportunity to try and get a multiheal for a weaker pet.
