Price/Power (5/5)
10 icons of attack is currently a pretty standard weapon strength these days without the blocking power. Not that it has made much difference to the usefulness, the price has risen recently due to the obelisk war but hasn't gone down.

Countermeasures (4/5)
Pretty easily blocked by several hidden tower weapons, but realistically the cheapest way to counter this is to simply not use dark. Given the popularity of the Sword of Skardsen has dropped recently that should be technically more possible then ever.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
The Ring of the Lost is the main alternative to this but right now costs far too much to really be worth it. Another option in cheap full blocking is the Parasol of Unfortunate Demise or the Altadorian Swordbreaker.

Final Thoughts
The release of this item annoyed a lot of collectors.

Power: 5/5
10 offensive icons paired with a full dark block for under 1M is a real steal. People used to pay far more for this when Ring of the Lost was the dark blocking dual duty of choice.

Counters: 2/3
Now here we go for the downside. The offense is completely shut down by the very popular Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield and reduced to 2 light icons by Ghostkershield, but at least it gets 7 icons through Faerie Tabard.

On the lower levels Leaf Shield and Virtupets X-514 Super Shield reduce it to 5 icons and 7 get through Shiny Shoal Shell Shield.

To sum it up: chances are the offense will be stopped or severly cut down if the enemy uses any popular defense, yet it's still a great dual duty if you know you'll encounter mass dark.

Uniqueness: 0/1
You might want to still consider Ring of the Lost instead of this if you can afford it as its offense is harder to stop whcih may get you ahead.

Bonus: 1/1
Certainly the best plot prize I've seen in a long time.

Back when Ring of the Lost was first released it was considered an amazing value. Then came Hanso Charisma Charm, offering an even better value.

Hanso Charisma Charm attacks with 5 Earth and 5 Light for a total of 10 icons while completely blocking Dark icons at the same time, all for a price of ~500k. (at the time of review)

Full defense against an icon type is few and far between when speaking of weapons priced under a million Neopoints, but 10 icons of offense on top of a full block is unheard of. Considering the sheer number of these in existence, the price won't be going far anytime soon.

The price and power of Hanso Charisma Charm are perfect: this weapon fits into both intermediate and upper-level sets. Hanso Charisma Charm can tear apart opposing Sword of Skardsens and Wand of the Dark Faerie. At a more intermediate level, none of the 13-icon weapons nor Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy or Stone Foam Finger will fall to Hanso Charisma Charm head-to-head, but it still serves as an excellent choice for 1P battling for a wide variety of budgets. (Remember to check iDB's challenger profiles to see which challengers use lots of Dark icons!)

Pairing Hanso Charisma Charm with a Faerie Tabard or Wanderers Cloak will provide solid protection against sic out of seven icon types while still outputting 10 icons of offense.

Golden Compass would be a step down for those on a miniscule budget. Illusens Staff would be a step up for those with deep pockets. But for most battlers, Hanso Charisma Charm is the best choice for a Dark-blocking Dual Duty.

Price/power (5/5): Despite having been around since 2011, this is still ridiculously cheap for what it does. Very few full blockers are dual duties that attack with 10 icons. It's essentially a high-level weapon with a mid-level price.

Tactical (4/5): Comes out ahead against Sword of Skardsen. However, it gets shut down by Pirate Captains Hat. It's also vulnerable to shields such as Leaf Shield, Wanderers Cloak, and Studded Leather Cuirass. With the release of the other anagram swords (i.e. everything other than Skardsen), the use of this weapon has diminished quite a bit. Even so, its potential as a dual duty cannot be overlooked.

Bonus (1/1): Back in the day, Ring of the Lost did pretty much the same thing and cost 10-20 times as much.

Closing remarks: While you do get more cheap full blockers these days (Altadorian Swordbreaker, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, etc.) there really aren't many dual duties that excel at both offense and defense. Get this while the low price lasts, because there are no viable alternatives to this. Then again, it's been quite some time since Faerieland fell from the sky, and the price of Hanso's charm has been pretty stable...
