Ratings - Red Suede Hat
Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) A weak dual duty with very little going for it even without its insane requirements. Countermeasures (0/5) You could counter this by just having a smart pet- not exactly hard. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Anything. If you want to use fire for the 2p advantage get yourself a Flask of Liquid Fire- if a good but obsolete entry level dual duty is what you desire- Scarab Ring... for fire and darkness defense Sophies Magic Hat. Really there are so many other options out there that the limits of this item are pretty major. Other Points Final Thoughts Maybe the trick is that really no one knows how to use this- perhaps it requires something really precise like a 27 int pet with 47 levels and an opponent with an amulet of pie equipped and then it will do Super Attack Pea level of attack......... Nah. Rated on January 29, 2015 |
Rating: | 3-6 Dual Duty weapons are rarely useful, and extra requirements for use further hinder Red Suede Hat's usability. Since this weapon requires that the opponent have at least 100 intelligence in order to attack, the extra attack will never occur in 1-Player, where challengers have a null intelligence value. This fact is also aggravating in 2-Player, since this is a factor beyond the users control. Even if Red Suede Hat could provide 3 icons of offense and 6 icons of defense regardless of user or opponent intelligence, this weapon would still underwhelm. Considering that beginner level weaponry these days deals at least 9 icons, it is incredibly difficult for a Dual Duty like this to even match similarly priced beginner weaponry. This weapon must block both Fire and Dark icons at all times to stay even with beginner weaponry; obviously, this is a ridiculous expectation. Weapons that deal as few icons as Red Suede Hat had better have some significant defense value to them in order to be useful. Red Suede Hat's defense is nowhere near enough; more offensively-oriented weaponry like Golden Compass, Snowager Sword, and Scroll of Ultranova are wiser beginner options. Rated on July 17, 2013 |
