Ratings - Super Attack Pea
Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (3/3): Grapes of Wrath, Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, and Super Attack Pea all are endgame constants, and thus you should get either whichever's cheapest or whichever does the most damage, depending on your need. Power (5/5): 24 icons is the next step after Hidden Tower weapons, not counting weapons that do massive ranges and rely on luck to get the higher end of the spectrum. This weapon blows that out of the water, and provides the biggest amount of icons you can ask for at a whooping 32. You can't find anything better than this outside of some heavily luck-reliant weapons like Faerie Slingshot. The only thing you should worry about with this weapon is earth blocking and reflection, so let's see what you should watch out for the most: Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife is a common 15 iconer that blocks just as many earth icons out of this pea, bringing it down to a 17 iconer vs a 15 iconer, with you winning by only 2 icons. Pretty Negg Shield will block 12 earth icons and reflect 4, bringing it down to a 16 iconer vs 4 reflected icons. Illusens Silver Shield, Shield of Pion Troect, Pirate Captains Hat, and the way rarer Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie and Earth Scarab all fully block earth, leaving you with a 12 iconer while a few of these do a few icons of damage on top. The dirt cheap Shovel Plus and the incomparably rarer and more expensive Craftsmans Lens and Kings Lens all reflect 50% earth, bringing you down to a 22 iconer vs 10 reflected icons.<... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Initial look- Its a bird...its a plane...no, its...its...its a cliche! Offensive Power- 5/5- This is THE best purely offensive weapon in Neopia. Laying down a solid 32 icons every time it's thrown makes this one of the few weapons that will dampen any opponents outlook on winning the battle. It cannot be overstated how powerful this weapon truly is. The only thing worse than having a Super Attack Pea used against you, is having TWO used against you! That latter of which being highly plausible due to the fact that these pea, in particular, are widely available stemming from a site-wide mishap that happened a few years ago... Counters- One of the things which makes this weapon so powerful is its icon types. Being both earth and air makes it impossible to completely block this weapon using just one defensive item, so you will need two to do so. An Ultra Dual Shovel could provide a partial reflection or any combo of Earth and Air full blockers (IE Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie, Pirate Captains Hat, Shield of Faerieland, Jhudoras Wand, etc.) would do the trick, but it would come at a heavy price. See, when you use two items to combat one you have to remember that your opponent will also be using a second weapon in addition to their pea. It could be a Sword of Domar or it could be a Wand of the Dark Faerie. In any case, it probably won't be good for you. Alternatives- The only realistic alternatives are its brothers the Seasonal Attack Pea, Attack Pea and its cousin, Grapes of Wrath. All of which are weaker, although Grapes of Wrath provides a good alternative icon type. Bonus- 1/1- It ... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Value 2/3: The power you get for the price you pay is fair for this weapon. Fair only because it's really impossible to compare it to anything else. 32 constant icons can't be topped by else available to players to own in the game of Neopets. Still, since this weapon will probably never sell for cheap, it will remain a fair value but not a great value. Tactical 6/6: Does this weapon get full points just because it does the most icons? Not exactly. As other reviewers have pointed out, you cannot counter this weapon with any one weapon. You cannot out-offense it. That makes it the superlative offensive item. Other 1/1: Simply the best offensive item in Neopia for years, and a highly sought-after avatar item to boot. I doubt if TNT will ever release a weapon that consistently deals out more raw damage. Rating: | Arguably the best weapon in the game, anyone that can afford a Super Attack Pea probably won't need my advice on how to use it. At a whopping 32 icons constant, no weapon available to players can deal more damage on a consistent basis. For this reason, no price tag could be unreasonable. Good luck stopping Super Attack Pea head-to-head. Ultra Dual Shovel can flip 15 Earth icons back, but what about the other 17 incoming icons? Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie can block a huge portion of the attack, but it just doesn't muster up enough offense to keep up. Shield of Faerieland? Shield of Pion Troect? Pirate Captains Hat? Stopping a Super Attack Pea dead in its tracks will take two pieces of defensive equipment. Of course, the Super Attack Pea user will have another weapon at their disposal as well. Cruel, huh? Super Attack Pea users are not impossible to defeat, but no one sporting one or two of these is going down easily. Rated on July 19, 2013 |
Rating: | Price/Power (5/5) This is the single most powerful multi-use constant attacking item on neopets, and has the price to match. While most users will never have a chance to use this, it still remains one of the most sought after items on the site. Countermeasures (5/5) While it can be dealt with via a Ultra Dual Shovel or a Shield of Pion Troect the chances of someone using one when facing you are small unless they expect the pea. Even if they do, the air damage would still charge in and crush. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades There are no real direct upgrades to this weapon, but there are some which may be of more use... Downgrade wise there is always the Seasonal Attack Pea and Grapes of Wrath for much less of a pricetag. Other Points (1 Deduction) I was going to rate this a perfect 10, but due to the ever-raising cost of it and the troubles it can cause on the boards I will give it a 1 point deduction. Final Thoughts An awesome weapon which has gained a right to stand on the pedestal of Neopian history even if one day it gets knocked off. Rated on May 26, 2013 |
