Ratings - Jittery Jipple Pear Potion
Price/Power (0/5)
Upwards of 10 icons with heavy restrictions. While I am glad that like most potions it isn't single-use or once-per-battle; it does feel that this weapon does not have the pushing power. Add in the fact it is weaker in 1p and you have a worthless potion.

Countermeasures (0/5)
This item counters itself; but chances are at least you will know that your opponent has higher than 9 INT in 2P; in 1P it just stops working and if you forget about the lost 4 icons you are just playing yourself.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
There are so many other better options for this such as the Multi Barbed Ice Spear, Void Blade or even the bloody Scroll of the Fool. If you want a good high icon value option for 2P you'd be better off with the great value Flask of Liquid Fire even if the icon distribution is slightly more common.

Final Thoughts
I never did like pears; I didn't think it was just because they make bad Battledome weapons but hey, maybe I was wrong.

Overview: Though useless in 1-player, the Jittery Jipple Pear Potion is a nice addition for a beginner's 2-player's set.

The Good: The potion runs 10np or less, so cost is a major plus. The best past of this potion is its effectiveness in a 2-player situation. Since most pets have more intelligence than the minimum, this will almost always do the bonus damage in a 2-player situation. 10 icons with only 2 types is amazing for the price. Most of the cheap weapons use 3 or more icon types, which makes them very susceptible to shields. The Pear Potion only has two icon types, so if the opponent doesn't have a shield to pick up dark or air, then no icons will be blocked.

The Bad: There are two big weaknesses of these weapons. First of all, they're useless to people like me who love romping through 1-player opponents. Since the Pear Potion would only do 6 icons in a 1-player situation, you'd be better off using an uber-cheap Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer or Scroll of Ultranova, since even if they get partially blocked, they'll both probably do more than 6 icons. The second issue with this weapon is its usability in tournaments. I've found that in tournaments, many players will lower their pet's intelligence below the minimum, and thus this weapon does only 6 icons, making it useless compared to other cheap weapons.

The Ugly Truth: For 10np, it's worth having this as an 8th weapon in your lineup. I'd highly recommend it as a backup in 2-player, especially if your main weapons have a wide spread of icons.

2/28/14 Update: I've lowered this rating from 6 to 4, because...
