Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price(0/3): Way, way more expensive than it's worth. You could easily buy way more useful battledome items with the amount of neopoints this one costs. Power(2/5): This weapon, while below average, still does a semi-decent amount of icons. The main issue in this case would be the sheer amount of icon types. If a weapon is spread into more than one or two icon types it usually ends up being way easier to partially block. There's not much else to say about this weapon in regards to power. It does its job, dealing an ok amount of icons while doing nothing else. The most bare bones definition of a weapon. Uniqueness(0/2): Sadly, most weapons tend to be rather underpowered or bland, be it because of lower than average icon count, easy to block icon types, or just oversaturation. This isn't the exception. Overall this isn't worth it at all. While it might be useful the horrendous price completely ruins this item's viability. of that its final rating is 2/10. Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) This is a RIC retired item- Price is massive, not worth using/buying without already owning it. Countermeasures (2/5) Not a terrible combination of icons even now- bits and bobs of it may be able to be blocked by some items- but blocking the whole lot is hard. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades There are too many other items which offer many more icons for less cost such as the Water Powered Pistol or the Cobrall Utility Blade Other Points (2 Bonus) I love this weapon, despite it being terrible in the modern scene. You also know I love RIC style items too. Final Thoughts I avoided rating this item for so long because I knew I would have to rate it poorly- now the time finally comes and yes indeed, I have to rate it poorly. Rated on August 31, 2018 |

Rating: | Overview: The Fungus Ray, or "Ray o' Fungi" as I call it, combines the elements that mid-tier elite battlers enjoy: Rarity and beauty. The Good: 11 icons spread among only 3 icon types is nice to see, though still not terribly great . In an age where large-spread weapons like Scroll of Knowledge and Scroll of the Fool are too common, the Fungus Ray stands kinda-sorta proud. A solid 11 icons provides a nice advantage in L97 tournaments. Since the Fungus Ray is rare enough, it may not be accounted for in a player's defense strategy. (Though this probably belongs in the next section, Portable Kiln is a much better 11-icon option when it comes to L97 11-iconers.) The Bad: Put simply, the Ray isn't cheap for what it does. Currently is listed for around 2 million Neopoints, an amount for which a battler can easily get more icons. For instance, the 14-icon Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy and 15-icon Stone Foam Finger can both be had for less than the price of the Fungus Ray. The Ugly Truth: Outside of L97 tournaments, the Fungus Ray really doesn't have a lot of value. The upgrades mentioned above are cheaper, and for serious contenders of L97, there are some better options. Overall, the weapon is a poor choice, but not totally worthless.
