Rating History ▼
At a Glance (1/3):
Shock your opponent with a quick lash of 3 icons of fire and light, and 2 icons of physical damage!

In-Depth (1/4):
8 icon constants are pretty weak for today's starter weapons. Fire and light weapons are pretty good, but there are quite a few ways to stop it: Snowager Sword, Scarab Ring, Ancient Gnarled Wand, and Ultimate Negg Hammer all are some example beginner weapons that beat this.

Cost (2/2):
This costs 1 np. There's no reason not to have it I suppose, since 1 nps can be had from a daily, if not as drops from the Battledome itself.

Bonus (1/1):
As much as I like swinging around swords maniacally, I'm going to have to pass up on this one... And on the opportunity to make a really ELECTRIFYING pun. Hehe.

Final Score: 5/10

Electro Sword is a Central Arena prize in the new Battledome, and as a result of the masses being handed out, it can be obtained off the Shop Wizard for less than 100NP. 8 icons is reasonable for this amount of Neopoints, but Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Throwing Cutlass are 9 icon weapons that can be obtained for a similar amount.

The Fire and Light combo is nice, sliding around Leaf Shield and Shiny Shoal Shell Shield, but the exceptionally popular Scarab Ring mangles this weapon. This means that Electro Sword, like any other weapon in low level battling needs to be mixed up to be effective.

The low price and solid power for that price make Electro Sword a decent beginner weapon, but most battlers will replace it fairly quickly.

Scroll of Knowledge is a good upgrade for strictly 1-Player battlers.

Scroll of Ultranova would be a better upgrade for 2-Player, as it keeps the Fire and Light, and adds Air into the mix as well.

Price/Power (4/5)
8 Icons is pretty respectable in combat, and since this item was/is given out from the Battledome it is also a very nice price. In 1P this is a great step up from the 6 icon attackers.

Countermeasures (0/5)
A scarab ring can slaughter this, as do multiple common shields. Generally not hit by as many 1P opponent shields from what I can tell however.

Alternatives, Upgrades or Downgrades
Check out the Scroll of the Scholar for another cheap upgrade, or keep battling to win a Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer. The Flask of Liquid Fire is really the biggest no-brain upgrade to this weapon though.

Other Points (1 Bonus)
The Battledome makes this item highly affordable right now.

Final Thoughts
A great 1P for people who plan on ditching their {{Obsidian Daggers}}.
