Ratings - Caustic Potion
Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) This healing item is by no way powerful enough to use in everyday combat. It isn't alone in this either, there are many that are this horrible. With that in mind I am going to try and write a single review for all of them- Countermeasures (0/5) This level of hp is not enough to be worth using, just give it a miss. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades In battle, the Greater Healing Scroll, out of battle the Essence of Everlasting Apple, Super Strength Healing Potion or Bubbling Healing Goo are all worth looking into. Other Points Final Thoughts This is just one item in a series of horrible ones. Even the added attack does little to make this item worth using. At least it is reasonably cheap... Rating: | Overview: Once a nice start bomb, the Caustic potion isn't really competetive anymore, despite being received for a relatively cheap price from Jhudora. The Good: I'm going to give this a bonus point for being a prize given by the greatest Faerie in Neopia. That being said, Caustic Potion deals a single icon-type of damage combined with healing, which would be nice if it wasn't for... The Bad: ...the terribly low amounts of each that it does. 5.2 icons is easily outclassed by a number of 10np-or-less weapons, and the healing, while nice as a novelty, just isn't that great. A player looking for this kind of weaponry would be better off with a Fighting Folder, which offers a similar minimum of 5.3 icons but also heals 2 icons per turn without being a single-use weapon. The Ugly Truth: Caustic Potion is too weak to be seriously considered for use in the Battledome. Fighting Folder should be considered as its better counterpart, while many cheap constants, such as Scroll of Ultranova, would be a nice upgrade. Rated on April 14, 2014 |
