Ratings - Elephante Stunray
Many years ago, when the Battledome was far more popular than it is now, Elephante Stunray actually saw some use.

In the early and mid 2000s, 100% freezers were not a necessity. Few battlers owned good freezers, yet almost all battling events allowed for the use of freezers. While a more modern 2P tournament would punish anyone foolish enough to enter with a Snowglobe Staff or Frost Cannon, 2P events of the past featured battlers with a wide variety of set strengths.

The reasons for using an Elephante Stunray made sense to some users. First, the Elephante Unguent was a highly affordable healer for Elephantes in an era when there was no Greater Healing Scroll or Crisp Blue Tunic and Jade Scorchstone was far too expensive for most users. The appeal of the Elephante species was already there for the cheap 50% healer.

Second, Elephante Stunray dealt a whopping 7.714 icons for a reasonably low price in an era where six-iconers were standard entry-level equipment. While a Sinsis Sword or Dark Battle Duck would run for 750k, Elephante Stunray packed similar power at only ~150k.

The users running Elephante Stunray weren't interested in the miniscule chance of a freeze. They were simply forgoing any realistic hope of a freeze for an underpriced offensive weapon. And maybe once in awhile, they would score a lucky freeze and steal a battle. Although battlers of this caliber would surely be slaughtered by those ahead of the curve in this area, players' eagerness to battle in the golden era of the Battledome allowed all walks of Neopian life to scrap for a few wins.

In the present, Elephante...

Price/Power (2/5)
This is technically a multi-freezer. It isn't exactly very useful but at least it offers over 6 icons of attack.

Countermeasures (1/5)
Unlike a lot of weapons which do not offer a reasonable level of attack, this one is close to it. If it just offered a couple more icons to get through some shields, then maybe.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
If you want a low freeze chance with an attack attached, you need a Slumberberry Potion, which can do it more then once. Otherwise get a Randomly Firing Freeze Ray or a full freezer like a H4000 Helmet.

Other Points (1 Bonus)
For not being completely useless.

Final Thoughts
This review was completed after rating a huge number of absolutely terrible freezers- I may have been overly generous after finding one that isnt 100% horrible- but make no mistake. This is most likely not worth using.

At a Glance (1/3):
This exclusive, elephante weapon zaps your opponent with 3 icons of fire, 2.714 icons of water, and 2 icons of air, with a 4% chance to actually leave them frozen solid! Takes up a freezer slot and disappears after freezing.

In-Depth (0/4):
This weapon, as a constant, is very behind the power curve clocking in at 7.714, with the abundantly ubiquitous Scroll of Knowledge and many other 10-11 icon constants. As a freezer, 4% success rate is terrible. You're better off with Randomly Firing Freeze Ray.

Price (1/2):
Thankfully, the price reflects the quality of this stunray somewhat at less than 30k. I remember these barely being buyable...

Bonus (0/1):
You know, if TNT took the fire out of this stunray, it'd have a better job at freezing. Just sayin'.

Final Score: 2/10
