Ratings - Kings Lens
Rating: | Recommended for: Advanced Battlers Price at Time of Rating: 2-3m, in flux and will update once settled This weapon was given out as a weekly Quest Log prize starting in May 2024. Strengths: Kings Lens is unique for being able to reflect a hefty chunk of three different icon types, which can provide both a good offense and defense against tough opponents if you know that they attack with a heavy amount of these particular types. And for its currently lower prices, it can be a great choice to pick up as sort of a stepping stone before a more expensive but stronger single-type reflector. And as noxmiles pointed out in an earlier review, pairing this with Faerie Tabard will give you defensive coverage against every element type! Weaknesses: 50% reflection can still leave a lot of damage unblocked if you're using this against a strong opponent (which is generally where reflectors shine most), so your pet may need to have very high HP or a good secondary shield in order to survive the hit. If you know that your opponent hits hard with one particular icon type, it may be better to get either a 75-100% blocker or a 75% reflector for that type if you can afford it. Alternatives: Its peers for multi-icon percentage blocking/reflecting include Superior Reflection Shield, Pretty Negg Shield, Pirate Captains Hat, and The Mystical Tablet. A cheaper direct downgrade would be Craftsmans Lens. Notes: This weapon's price may fluctuate a lot in the coming weeks, and may go up again if it is ever removed from the Quest Log prize pool. Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/Power (4/5) Essentially the same as using three cheap 50% reflectors at once. While I would never suggest using these lower end reflectors unless you knew what you were going up against, three icon types is pretty decent. Countermeasures (2/5) IT can knock out a lot of the damage of three of the commonly used anagram swords, along with some damage from other tower/cove weapons such as the Skarls Hasty Mace, Grapes of Wrath or Attack Pea family... However it just doesnt hit enough of these high end icons to warrant me giving this a massive score. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Pirate Captains Hat is one option, as is Superior Reflection Shield. There are cheaper options in the same family such as Craftsmans Lens which may be good if you are already using a Hanso Charisma Charm Other Points Final Thoughts Welp, it is 20mil now, certainly a much more reasonable price for blocking such common icon types. Rating: | At a Glance (2/3): Reflects 50% of 3 elements: light, dark, and earth. Cannot use two at once, though that's not really an issue. In-Depth (3/4): It cuts THREE elements in half! That's almost half of the total elements out there! Individually, it's no better than the 50% reflectors it replaces (Shovel Plus, Expert Lens/Dual Battle Mirror, and Ultra Dark Reflectorb), but if 2 or all 3 of the elements are hit with massive damage, you'll be able to put your opponent in a bind easily. Not to mention the fact that it saves you two weapon slots; instead of using 3 slots for 3 reflectors, you can take up one with the utility of all three. Additionally, it has great defensive synergy with a variety of weapons. Pair it with Faerie Tabard for a fantastic overall defensive barrier, covering all elements; with Shield of Faerieland/Triple Turbo Dryer/Double Dryer to help stop air better; and with Clawed Shield/Turbo Flame Reflector to punish massive fire. With these shields and K-lens, you have a relatively strong answer for any offense. This weapon particularly shines in high-end, high-league battling, where you can expect to encounter peas, Wand of the Dark Faerie, Skarls Sword, Faerie Slingshot, Grapes of Wrath, etc., as they all have combinations of earth, light, and/or dark. It doesn't mean that it'll make such fights easy; they will still be extremely difficult. But with the right gear and the right wits, you can be confident in this weapon. Price (2/2): I'm honestly really conflicted here. ~50m is a heavy price tag (though not as high as actual "high-end" items). B... ▼ Read More ▼ |
