UPDATE, ~4:00 PM NST: It's fixed! Stuff your pets! Send them into battle! Volunteer them at the hospital! You can do all of that again. 
A new glitch has emerged today over at the Battledome. It seems that, currently, the process to start a battle is erroring, with no way to complete or terminate the battle.
The result is that any features that check your pet's current battle status appear to be broken after starting a battle. So far, we have confirmed this includes:
We recommend avoiding the Battledome until further notice and TNT has addressed this issue. This includes both the regular Battledome and The Void Within Barracks.
TNT has yet to comment on the issue, but we will update this post if they do!

- Starting new shifts at the Hospital Volunteer Centre
- Completing Faerie Quests (including active fortune cookies)
- Visiting the Healing Springs
- Feeding pets (and by extension cannot complete Quest Log daily Feed a Pet task)
- Can't abandon pets at Pound
- Can't morph pets
We recommend avoiding the Battledome until further notice and TNT has addressed this issue. This includes both the regular Battledome and The Void Within Barracks.
TNT has yet to comment on the issue, but we will update this post if they do!

I noticed this, I can't start any battles or even feed my pets. Using other items seems to work but I can't feed them. It just never loads.

Honestly... whole neopets should be taken down for a month and its code rewritten from scratch & modernized... everyday something new breaks.

I have a question instead of a comment: If the glitch hasn't yet affected me, is it also recommended to stop volunteering in the hospital since the hospital links to the Void Within Barracks?

@sinthr software and data engineer in training here: it would take way WAY more than a month to despaghetti the code, especially because parts of it are insanely outdated or lost entirely. trying to fix one thing could irreparably break something else, making the site worse overall. it's really easy to say "well why don't they just Fix It" when you don't have insight on the topic, but from my experience working with older software the neopets team is walking an insane tightrope and i commend them for the major fixes they have implemented already.

I was in the middle of starting a battle when everything went sideways. ARG.
I assume this is related to the glitch discussed in this article, but I also can't feed my pets. I get an 'Uh Oh!" error and nothing happens.
But I can feed them at the Golden Dubloon, so there's that.

EVery annoying that it doesn't work. Because of this I miss my double points for the battle and for the volunteer work. That doesn't work for me either.

Well at least I was able to finish my 3rd hospital shift, earn double points and that put me over 20k plot points for the new
Vibrant Vindicator trophy.
I really hope there is a fix. I need to feed my pet to finish my Daily Quest. Otherwise I've lost 5 days progress.

And yeah, I imagined it'd take ages and a lot of effort tbh, but month seemed like a good filler. Point of what I was trying to say is, at least imo it would be better for neo to be down even for a long time, and be relaunched as a proper site instead of just dragging it like this. I'm grateful for what we have, I guess it's just bittersweet sometimes to think also what could have been...

Agreeing with the people that are saying that recoding the site would be a perilous task. I tend to think of old sites like this as layer cakes - every time they add a layer the cake gets taller and more likely to fall over, and you can never tell which layer will give way and topple the lot. After that the metaphor gets messier than the coding lol, but you get the gist.

I mean, they did say something about site downtime. Should have been yesterday or today for the full ten hours. Plenty of time to fix the matter or at least halt it in its tracks until they could complete the job.

Yeah the wishing well has been wonky all day. My mom and I were trying to figure out if it was a glitch or if they were changing it back to wishing once a day or something. Thought I might have missed some news, lol. Definitely just seems like a glitch now though. 🤷🏻♀️

Another issue ... one can not use healing potions from SDB either. They really need to just shut it down from all the 'freaking out post' so TNT can do their job n get things fixed/working again.

Thank goodness I did all of my quests, plot, battling, etc. early this morning before everything went crazy. I still need to send the new crew to the hospital and do my dailies, so hopefully the site will be up again soon.
