Wow, even though they haven't exactly been super exciting; there certainly have been plenty of new weapons to sink our teeth into. Today we have the long-winded Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife.
Thankfully this one does look to be multi-use; in the past some advent items can be rather powerful so I would never say no. Get to the Advent Calendar today to pick one up.

I think the Void Blade is still on top, but this knife isn't too far behind. The additional 75% Earth defense is just icing on the cake. Good job TNT.
Hm, looking back at the Bundle of Burning Birch Branches, I wonder if you could create a BD set with just Advent Calendar weapons (note I didn't say "good", that would be a bonus). Maybe an idea I'll play around with later.

A powerhouse. Beats GoW, Attack Pea and Seasonal Attack Pea head to head, only the mighty SuAP comes out ahead! The best earth defence on Neopia, unless you need a 100% blocker for 1P.

So, I've gone though all the BD equipment that have been released through Advent Calendar. Let's say I'm making a 8-piece BD set for Reina using just these equipment. I think the best possible set would be thus:
* Bundle of Burning Birch Branches
* Festive Holiday Scroll
* Candy Cane Dragon Star
* Shooting Star Muffin
* Snowager Sword
* Bottled Holiday Cheer
* Holiday Nova
* Underwater Oven Gloves
"Huh, where's Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife?"
Well, for Reina specifically it didn't feel festive enough. If for some bizarre reason a player wanted to use an all Advent Calendar set, I would say swap out Shooting Star Muffin with Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife and it would be pretty much the same set (minus a one-use item and plus a good multiuse weapon).
And if stealing ever starts working again, you can swap out the fragile Holiday Nova with a Purple Sticky Hand. Though I suppose you could switch it out now for Sweet Nightmares Curse and just hope your opponent doesn't use Dark icons.

An interesting thing to note: This almost trades evenly with the Super Attack Pea.
This deals 15 icons, while an opposing SAP will deal 16 icons. The only other item that can say the same is the Ultra Dual Shovel, which is overall a riskier weapon to use.

SuAP Will deal 17 vs Roxtons 15, just like Super Attack Pea vs Ultra Dual Shovel. But yeah, it's the closest any constant can come to checking the mighty pea. Obviously if you miss with UDS you will deal 0, and with the Knife you still get 15 icons for your trouble. As I said, the best earth defence on Neopia and it was an Advent Calendar gift! :o
