Notes Winged Scarab will replace all incoming physical attack with 2 physical icons. These 2 physical icons will be dealt to you multiplied by your own defense boost and your stance.
If paired with a weapon that blocks more physical damage than you are receiving. You will still take 2 physical icons multiplied by your Defense boost and stance.
If paired with a 100% Physical Blocker, you will not take the 2 physical icons worth of damage.

At a Glance (1/3):
Chuck this winged scarab at your opponent and inflict 3 icons of air damage on them! You can also use it to block 3 air icons and all physical damage. However, apparently the meta wings are so sharp, you inflict 2 physical icons on yourself each time you use it, no matter how well you handle it.

In-Depth (2/4):
This used to be the physical blocker of choice. It could take out something like dual Asparachucks, and block a little bit of air in the process. Now we have Altadorian Swordbreaker, which exchanges the air defense and self-infliction for a stronger earth offense. Just make sure you cleverly chose your second weapon to put you ahead of your opponent.

Price (1/2):
It is around 60k currently, which is a pretty cheap price for a full blocker. The aforementioned Swordbreaker is about 15k more expensive though, so if you can, I would try to hold out for the swordbreaker than this.

Bonus (1/1):
If you think about it, the self-infliction damage compared to the amount of damage you're outputting, the self-damage is A LOT. It is 2/3rds of the damage you deal out with the scarab on yourself, which means that your net offense is one icon with the scarab. If something like this was extended to a powerful constant, like Super Attack Pea, you would have a net offense of 10.667 icons, which is far less terrifying than a net offense of 32.

This is HUGE. It's technically a really terrible offensive weapon, so you're really paying for its ability to fully block physical damage. You'd think that I'd give a -1 for something like this, but it's a cool, trivial observation that I think deserve...

Price/Power (0/5)
Price is held back by the Altadorian Swordbreaker and for good reason. Considering the fact it still damages you and offers dramatically less attack then it's competitor I need to rate this low.

Countermeasures (4/5)
A full block is pretty much always awesome when you need to do it. With the new physical dominatedStone Foam Finger adding more usefulness to that proposition then ever any full physical block is great.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
The Altadorian Swordbreaker is better then this in every way, unless this is given out by some insane giveaway.

Price/power (4/5): For about the same price as the insanely cheap Altadorian Swordbreaker, you get 3 attacking air icons, 3 air defense, and a slightly inferior physical defense. It's not a horrible deal, though there's little reason to buy this anymore.

Tactical (2/5): This offers slightly better defense than the Altadorian Swordbreaker since it defends 3 air as well, but it doesn't really pull ahead, if at all. Air is somewhat harder to block than earth, but it's still stopped by Shiny Shoal Shell Shield, Studded Leather Cuirass, etc. Still, a full blocker is always nice, especially if it's a dual duty. The self damage, however, can be a problem.

Bonus (1/1): This was once considered a superb weapon at 200k.

Closing remarks: If you have one of these, keep it--there's no real reason to sell it, and you might keep it on rotation for certain 1P opponents. Otherwise, get the cheaper Altadorian Swordbreaker.
