Ratings - Blue Scorchstone
Rating: | As far as I can tell, there is no better weapon at it's pricepoint. 30 full hp of overheal capability. Objectively speaking, I'd rather have the cursed elixir of neovia at half the price, or just a cursed elixir period, but this has a purpose for a certain subset of battlers that are starting to grow, but have not gone too far in their training. The fact that it's buyable, and will always hold some value due to rarity for non bd purposes makes it a non horrible investment when it's time to sell. It seems silly to give this a 7, but out of the nearly 3000 weapons, it's hard to find even 300 that are more useful for the price, so here we are. Rated on September 18, 2017 |
Rating: | At a Glance (1/3): Draw power from within the stone, restoring 30 hp just by touching the orb during times of great need! Be careful, as it'll only work once every altercation. In-Depth (2/4): This is a good healer for beginners who've had a bit of training already. While it doesn't drain like Cursed Elixir does, and is only 5 hp away from the healing power of Oasis Tonic, this jewel, like all scorchstones, has the ability to overheal, meaning it can heal past its max hp (whereas the tonic and elixir cannot). This means, for example, if you have 30/45 hp, you won't heal 15 hp - you'll heal 30. Keep in mind that if you end up not taking any damage, you'll end up being at 45/45 hp (since being at 60/45 hp is kind of silly). Get the idea? That's what makes this healer pretty decent for beginners even after all these years. Price (0/2): 95k is a bit pricey for what it does. The tonic is only 7.5k in comparison. The extra 87.5k you're paying for is obviously for the overhealing. Let me know when this breaks 50k... Bonus (1/1): +1 for nostalgia. It will always be fondly remembered as "the stronger, more expensive Lesser Healing Scroll" lol. Final Score: 4/10 Rated on October 29, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) Due to the inflation of the Greater Healing Scroll this little overhealing scorchstone is slightly more appealing then it used to be... However with the cost of stat points dropping dramatically I see few people being at a level of battling where a tiny 30hp would be enough. Countermeasures (3/5) 30hp isn't horrible. But it still is no Greater Healing Scroll. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades The aforementioned scroll, or our friends the Rejuvenating Jar of Brains Other Points Final Thoughts I do miss when these used to be worth using, another battledome world rocked by the brightvale scrolls. Rating: | At the time of this review, Blue Scorchstone runs for about 175,000NP. Like many lower-level Healers, Blue Scorchstone is subject to large fluctuations in price during times of war. Greater Healing Scroll is similar in price to Blue Scorchstone at the time of this review. Although Blue Scorchstone heals 20 fewer hitpoints, it does over-heal, unlike Greater Healing Scroll. Over-healers provide always provide the maximum heal, even if the user has lost fewer hitpoints than the power of the heal at time of use. Given that this is the only difference between an over-healer and a regular healers, there is nothing special about an over-healer if it is used when a pet has lost more hitpoints than the over-healer will heal. In the case of the Blue Scorchstone vs. Greater Healing Scroll debate, Greater Healing Scroll becomes the better choice when a pet reaches about 50 to 60 hitpoints. It is also worth nothing that Lesser Healing Scroll is a much cheaper option for low-budget battlers, healing 25HP at a cost of about 10k. Blue Scorchstone is an effective healer for pets with 1 to 60 hitpoints. If a pet has more health, Greater Healing Scroll and other stronger healers become more reasonable choices.
