Price/Power (2/5)
Daily item, if nothing else it will become exceedingly cheap one day. One day. Even then, 6-8 icons of defense is of limited use.

Countermeasures (0/5)
It is able to take down parts of several of the Brightvale scrolls including the Scroll of the Scholar and Scroll of the Wise... However with how many different scrolls there are around these days it is very simple to just swap to another overly cheap scroll and forget about this blocking.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Go for a Virtupets X-514 Super Shield or Tower Shield instead.

Other Points (1 Bonus)
It looks really awesome.

Final Thoughts
A cool hat which would be better served as a wearable then as a weapon.

Price/power (2/5): The price is sure to drop, but it won't cheap enough anytime soon.

Tactical (1/5): Defends some useful icon types, but not enough of them. In the modern Battledome, beginners have access to 9-iconers and sometimes even more powerful weapon. This hat will not be able to cover any commonly used weapons.

Bonus (0/1): It's only unnerving in the sense that your opponent won't be able to stop wondering why you're using this to protect yourself.

Closing remarks: Unfortunately, many low-level shields simply aren't worthwhile these days. Save up for something that defends around 3 icons for each type, such as one of the full armour alternatives (Shiny Shoal Shell Shield, Studded Leather Cuirass, etc.) or get something that defends better in fewer types (Leaf Shield, Patched Magic Hat).
